The Place to Be

This was a lovely cottage type cafe with gifts and tourist information. A wide food selection to suit all the family. A great daily specials board but I had the soup of the day and sandwich which was under £6 with choices. My husband has a sweet tooth and he was well catered for! Free Wifi and time... read more

Well worth a trip whether its for breakfast, lunch or just a snack. I have visited a few times now either as a couple, with friends or as a family and on each occasion the food has been excellent, staff friendly and the atmosphere relaxing and enjoyable. The menu offers a good variety of food and drink at a very... More

Looks like a gift shop but walk through and you'll find a world of delights of cakes and yummy food. Enjoy! Easy to find above the Spar.

On a cold January day we enjoyed an early light lunch for two. Sandwiches and scones were devoured with much pleasure. Service was excellent and staff were friendly in a nice family atmosphere.

There is always a wide range of delicious fare on offer. Prompt and polite service, reasonably priced too. Easy one level access with parking either at the door or in neighbouring free car park. The home made apple pie is to die for. The only issue I would raise is that they no longer serve it with custard! Only fresh... More

It was full of visitors when we arrived so we looked around the gift shop while we waited for a table.. the food is not too expensive and we enjoyed a light lunch.

Recently enjoyed a tremendous Christmas party night at GALLOWAY BURGER with Galloway Cricket Club. The restaurant had a lovely welcoming atmosphere with all the children enjoying the treat boxes and candy canes placed on each table...great place to take a family. The food was delicious with a variety of homemade burgers including beef bacon cheeseburger and chilli chicken. All burgers... More

We are regular visitors to the Galloway Lodge burger night on a Friday. Although we reviewed it a long time ago, it just gets better and better. The burgers are beyond description - the best you'll ever taste and the menu is becoming more and more varied, with interesting takes on burger types and accompaniments. All credit to Stuart, the... Enjoyed mid-week, mid-November lunch here with friendly serving staff. Plenty of customers so staff were kept busy. Enjoyed scrambled egg with lots of smoked salmon and a cheese panini.

We tried the cafe after shopping in their excellent little store. The menu was just what we like with some seriously good breakfasts and lunches on it. Within two minutes we had a bottle of water on our table without needing to request one and the waitress was there to take the order. This service compares extremely favourably with anywhere...
