I like this place, it has a nice atmosphere. The staff are very warm and welcoming and above all they actually smile!! Their scones are second to none. They have a fantastic choice of cakes, callorie laiden I'm sure but..what the hell! Wish they'd change the wallpaper on the way to the immaculate toilets tho...seeing Paris flash by every second... Coffee is great, just don't like the smell of all the soap ornament that they sell, it puts me off eating. Staff are lovely.

Better pubs in Dumfries that serve better beer and no jumped up bar staff. Head for tam o shanter or the globe.

Tucked up above the Coach and Horses Pub at the bottom of Bank Street where it joins onto The Whitesands. Beautifully presented bistro/cafe, views of the nith and a lot of original features in this wonderfully historic building. Home cooked food, usually with a Scottish twist, but this chef has awards for healthy cooking, so no chips and greasy sandwiches... More

I love little children, but this Cafe Bistro provides a baby/toddler free zone where I can enjoy... More
