The Globe Inn is situated up a little vennel of the main High Street in the centre of Dumfries. The bar has 2 sections a little snug and a larger more modern bar behind. To sit and enjoy a relaxing drink you could easily be transported back to the times of Robert Burns. We had friends visiting and asked if... More

Great place for lunch. Mixture of locals and tourists doing the Burns tour. Very child friendly. Haggis, neeps and tatties was very good. Steak pie fantastic.

The Globe is always our first stop on a night out when I'm home in Dumfries. Great atmosphere (live music nights are fab), great value, great jukebox selections.

After walking around Dumfries, we wanted to stop by the Globe Inn where Robert Burns spent some time. We ate in the back room and sat in his chair. The owner gave us a tour of the upstairs where he had slept. She had lots of stories to tell. We had a light lunch of salad and fish cakes which... More

We visited on a Saturday afternoon expecting to have lunch. Unfortunately, lunch finished at 3.00pm and although we arrived at 2.40pm, lunch was not offered. I went to the bar to order a drink. The barmaid was deep in conversation with a regular customer and after waiting for more than 5 minutes with no acknowledgement, my wife decided that this... More

It has a superb manageress who is more than happy to give tours of Burn's bedroom and share some interesting history. Food is served at lunchtimes and can only be described as super pub grub! One of the best places... More
