Had lunch at Lazels bistro, hadn't been in a while. It was very disappointing. The food was uninteresting, lacks atmosphere and the service was poor. We had the fish and chips which came with a salad which was missing the dressing. Would not rush back.

Nice food and pleasant surroundings. Bright and airy room. Very clean. Staff very nice and attentive. We only had sandwiches but very tasty and fresh ingredients. Saw others with proper meals and they looked lovely and no complaints.

This bistro has no atmosphere and feels like you are sitting in a swimming pool cafe. It echoes and there is no music playing. The food was disappointing.

It is certainly not what we were expecting from "The Hydro", yes it is in the basement so I guess that should have given us a clue on what to expect. It more resembles a works canteen. The service was awful, dsabled toilet dirty. Only one lady serving and her apperance was of the cleaning lady, also some of her... More

a lovely lunch at this restaurant and hotel guests get 10% off which makes it a great place. Shame it isn't open during the day for tea, coffee and cakes.

Having not eaten at the Peebles Hydro before my friend suggested we lunch there today, her treat. Service was polite but fairly slow although the restaurant was not full by any means. On the upside my fish and chips were hot and the batter crispy, my friend also enjoyed her sausage and mash. However unfortunately the cheeseboard was a big... More

Place wasn't busy. We waited approx 35 mins whilst the 2 staff attended to 3 other customers, despite having obviously seen us the staff appeared to both be trying to avoid taking our order. We left and had a lovely lunch at the Tontine.

Poor hygiene, poor service, one waitress, slightly grubby, did her best, was pleasant but harassed. Poor cleanliness of table and of shabby surrounds. Only one chef catering for a busy period, slow service. Good fish, but by placing it on the chips meant the chips went yellow with oil from batter and were soggy. Disabled toilet very low standard and... More

We went a drive to Peebles, & thought a visit to Peebles Hydro for lunch would offer good quality food, after all it was a recognised Hotel. I had briefly looked at the hotels website & a picture of Lazels looked a nice Bistro with a warm cosy atmosphere. Apparently the camera never lies. It does. The "Bistro" is located... More

This review isn't very reasonable or fair. It was written by someone who we think was probably expecting to be served lunch in the main hotel dining room, with its glorious views and more formal atmosphere. They were obviously disappointed to discover this was not the case, although they could easily have chosen not to stay. No complaints were received... More
