Lovely grub

Recommended by a friend so we stopped in tonight. Nothing pre-cooked on the fryer at the counter so it seems it's cooked to order. The food was very good and service polite. It's one of those places that it's good to know so you can get a good meal in an unfamiliar town.

Delicious white pudding supper. Really tasty chips perfectly cooked! But... A really small, busy, cramped seating area where if your table isn't bumped into by the waitress your chair will be bumped into by other guests as tables are crammed in so close to each other. Waitress got drinks order wrong, but quickly corrected. Good value, but would probably take... More

2nd visit; this time we had a sit down. Restaurant is a small and popular basic UK cafe tucked on the side of the chippy. Clean. Waitress service. Fish is freshly cooked. Fillet was thick and boneless. Batter was just right. Quality. Real chips (no reconstituted pre cooked potato rubbish here). Bread and butter available if you feel like making... More

As a resident of Peebles for the last fifteen years I’ve been a fan of this fish and chips establishment since I first arrived. It was initially called Big Ebb’s, but became Jim and Jacks for the last several years. I feared that it wouldn’t be as good as the original “chippy” but have been pleasantly surprised. The decor has... More

Got a lovely fish tea here. Able to get a mini portion which was adequate for my husband and I. Service was very good in this well kept little restaurant. Price was amazing for the good quality received

Their fish is absolutely superb. Very hard to beat in any of the restaurants that serve fish and chips.
