Great little cafe that serves its own homemade bagels, its a little cafe so getting a seat can be hard as its quite busy, worth a visit.

Situated in Silver Street, a small street at the South end of the High Street, this was my first visit to these premises and it was a very good experience. Went there for a Saturday lunch and on arrival there were quite a few people having lunch in this quirky place. There were two choices of soup, potato and leak... More

I was surprised that they do not take card payments of any kind. When I queried this the girl said that she didn't know about it as she was Australian. I had always thought that there was technology down under - but perhaps not. Then some bloke snapped at me and walked off. The food was nothing special. My wife... More

I haven't had many burgers in bagels (possibly only one!) but it was very good with a tasty, well seasoned, genuinely home-made burger. The staff are very friendly & helpful. The restaurant is eclectic & cosy. The kitchen is small so our order (for 9) came out in 2 lots separated by 10 minutes but was worth the wait. Child... More

The best coffee and hot chocolate we have had since we got to the UK. The service was great and very personal, perhaps because the staff member got homesick at our accents! The decor is quirky but very comfortable. We could have spent hours there. Lovely collection of books.

We had a nice cup of coffee and cake at Damascus Drum. The service was very helpful and pleasant. I did not particularly enjoy the taste of my coffee and it was served with a jug of hot milk. It would be best to ask if the customer prefers hot or cold milk. I was slightly disappointed upon the arrival... More

A Hawick glassblower recommended the Damascus Drum for lunch. Veggie burger and a bagel burger eaten and the clean plates at the end say we approve. Great price as well as a relaxed atmosphere. They even provide water for a dog outside.
