Over the last thirty years I've eaten several times at The Frog. I visit whenever I'm chartering a yacht at the Dunstaffnage Marina. Over the years, as the ownership has changed, so has the quality of the food and service. I think now it is the best I have experienced. I recently ate there twice, once at the beginning of... More

Returning from a week in the Hebrides we could not have chosen a better hotel to finish off our holiday. The room was superb, bed wonderfully comfortable and as far as the restaurant goes the choice on the menu was extensive. The quality of the food was beyond reproach and the staff could not have been more helpful and pleasant.... More

When you first drive by this place, it looks uninviting, you are not sure if it is a restaurant or rooms or what but that first look is misleading. It does have rooms but what we found was a great little gem of a restaurant, having welcoming staff, good location with excellent views whilst you dine and generally a really... More

The waitress when we arrived said it would be a twenty minute wait for a table even though there were only two customers eating at the time. She then showed us a table straight away and gave us menus which we were confused about (we thought we had a 20min wait). The lady who took our order and served our... More

Firstly on a positive.good position of hotel looking over marina.pity therefore our room was situated at the back.carpet leading up to the room was dirty and room seen better days.toilet seat broken and dirty teacups leftover from day before. Seafood good.breakfast a bit of a wait.To be honest the only saving grace was the young dark haired waitress who seemed... More

Popped in for lunch and sat outside to enjoy the view. Food was poor. Husbands burger was tough. I have never seen so much mustard in my ham sandwich. My first mouthful blew my head off and I only managed to eat it by leaving the slices of bread with mustard to one side. I can't believe that anyone with... More

This is a good place for a value for money overnight stay with food. Rooms and clean and well equipped. The position is convenient as well as offering great views. The restaurant is not quite so good although the breakfast was good and so is the fish cooking. The menu is very 1980s though and the service is basic although... More

Arrived in a boat party to be told by a very rude lady manager that there may not be enough food for everyone despite all having rooms in the hotel. The place is a shambles and the staff second rate.

This is a great location over looking the marina however the food was poor, starters much better than the mains with the black pudding starter good. The mains were Very disappointing, chips poor, steak tough and lamb shank a little tasteless. As this was our last evening having had a fabulous week sailing around the small islands it was a... Called here for a meal. If you are coming from Oban towards Fort William, on the A85, The Wide Mouthed Frog is before Dunbeig. There is a view over the marina, yachts coming and going, you can see Dunstaffnage Castle across Ardmucknish bay. The food for us was really good, and service was excellent.
