Wonderful fish at a very low price, excellent

Simply put: one of the best places I ate fish in my life. The quality was overwhelming, everything was caught in the morning, and we tried the full plate, crabs sandwiches and full crab, smoked salmon. We would have eaten there all the time we spent in Oban if we hadn't miss it because of evening... read more

One of the best places to have seafood in UK. Delicious items ranging from oysters, prawns and shellfishes. Excellent location and wonderful ambience.

Just finished a family holiday with relatives from Australia. Travelled the length and breath of the UK. (Seriously Lands End to John o Groats.) This place was the best seafood by far during seven weeks of traveling and eating. Even the mighty Padstow wasn't as good as the place. And at half the price.

We ate at an expensive place down the street, and then the next night we ate at the Seafood Hut. Guess which tasted better? Guess which was more fun? Guess which was 1/3 of the price? Yup. Eat here -- get the scallops with chili sauce which were "caught right over there."

If you want to savour superb Scottish seafood without the expense of an upmarket restaurant, head for Oban’s famous seafood stall – it’s the green shack on the quayside near the ferry terminal. Here you can buy fresh and cooked seafood to take away – excellent prawn sandwiches (£2.95), dressed crab (£4.95), and fresh oysters (95p each). Great stop for light lunch/dinner/snack--they also serve cooked food. Friendly, smiling faces--eager to please.

Very reasonably priced fresh seafood. We like to think we are seafood enjoyers and know what we are talking about.

Forget about the limited bench type outdoor seating and concentrate instead on what must be some of the best, most fresh seafood anywhere in Scotland. If it's your first visit and you like variety, go for the seafood platter at about £12. It was more than I could finish even with a little help from my wife who was busy... More

We first discovered the delicious smoked and poached salmon here a few years ago and now it is the first stop on our journey further north. Either a sandwich on the quayside (if it's not raining!) or a whole fish to take with us - or sometimes both! Absolutely delicious. Our holidays start here...

the hot smoked salmon sandwiches for £2.95, absolutely stuffed with salmon and salad filling, are a meal in themselves. LIkewise the prawn salad sandwiches. My wife and I regularly buy one of eahs and share. It is a much more substantial lunch than a fish supper and costs less. The small seafood platter, with a mix of mussels prawns soused herrindgand a... More
