This place is so different, a small shed on the pier, with a shared bench outside. The muscles were freshly cooked and you got heaps. The platter for two was piled high with fresh langoustine's, prawn, muscles, etc. Sharing the table with others who were there to enjoy was all part of the fun.

Legendary crab and hot smoked salmon sandwiches, the excellence of which never changes. Large portions - thick snadwiches!. Wife has trouble dealing with 2 of them. Stock up before boarding Calmac or for any other trip. Or just eat on the pier if you cannot wait. Various other fish specialities. Not a restaurant in any sense of the word but... More

It is our 5th time in Oban and 2nd time with the Hut. First time back in 2012 was a better experience as there is no many people queuing and finding place to eat was not a hassle. However, our second trip is still a great one. We manage to get a table to eat and the food is very... More

Visited after seeing these reviews. Exactly what we expected... on the dock, fresh and cheap seafood! Took a combination of plates including oysters and tiger prawns amongst other. Fantastic really! Very basic seating (if available) and service but the focus should be and will be the food. You'll enjoy the casual style and amazing food whilst watching live crabs being... More

Do not miss this small seafood shack on the pier near the CalMac terminal. The freshest seafood is served in generous quantities to be eaten standing up a 2 long tables or at a long table. Oysters, mussels, prawns, lobster, herring, crab share space on your plate...a seafood lovers dream.

Mussels cooked right in-front of you at this pier-side shack. Great casual atmosphere. Not much seating and table space, but plenty of space to sit on the pier and enjoy your seafood platter, crab, mussels in white wine or cockles. And very reasonable prices! *no indoor/undercover seating

A platter to share for £12,50, 6 oysters for just over £5. Excellent quality/price. For our 1st time in Scotland we couldn't imagine better: welcomed with wonderful seafood and amazing weather! We came back the day after to get some sandwiches (Crab, prawns and smoked salmon, never had smoked salmon as that one...less than £4 each, great) and they were... More

The food was very tasty and good value. A little more seating would be good as at busy times you have to walk about with your food,

Just look at the photos other reviewers have posted and you will understand how simple and wonderful this place is. They stop around 6pm so it isn't really a dinner venue, but then it probably gets a bit cold in the evening. The scallops and oysters are amazing value and everything tastes great. I scored it low for special occasions... More
