The Kitchen Garden is a busy delicatessen and coffee shop. Our licensed coffee shop is located on a mezzanine floor which overlooks the delicatessen below. We offer freshly prepared, local, simple meals and can be busy during peak times. With regret we do not have lift access to the coffee shop but wheelchairs and buggies can be left in the deli, where the staff will keep an eye. Our deli is well stocked with several thousand lines from Scotland and beyond, with an emphasis on Scottish cheeses and whiskies.

Great Food!

The spicy fish soup was delicious. My husband had the fish and chips. He was not disappointed. Service was prompter than you except in an English restaurant. The wait staff was nice.

Once you know to peruse the menu then order at the hatch you're off ! I love their homemade soups (two choices). Their prawn marie rose baked potato was very generous with the filling. The slice of lemon plus salad garnish was appreciated. On my own I read a book but was mindful that people might be waiting downstairs for... More

Visited this place many times before had have always enjoyed and would have ranked 5* but the visit on 24th June was quite different. Breakfast is always paid in advance and when it was delivered I was advised the plate was very hot. On inspection the items were very overcooked and in some cases burnt. Effort had been made to... We ventured in just to have a cappuccino and tea, with scones. It was crowded, but we managed a table and found it very enjoyable.

Very busy cafe but the staff are efficient so we didn't wait too long. Really nice food, teas were good, portion sizes good too.

We are surprised to read negative reviews as we have visited twice, 2 years apart and we were totally satisfied both times. The café is situated upstairs above the extensively stocked delicatessen. A mark of its popularity to us is that on the second occasion we were asked to wait downstairs for a table and as promised were seated in... More

We arrived just before 1:00 p.m. On Thursday, 25th June. The cafeteria is upstairs from a well stocked deli. At the foot of the stairs there was a notice saying 'Please wait to be shown to a table'. So we did. After five minutes a waiter came down. "Sorry but we're full. I'll have a table for you in five... More

We popped in here for lunch. Great service, lovely atmosphere & good coffee. My dad couldn't eat all his sandwiches & staff were more than happy to put them in a takeaway box for him. Lovely well stocked deli & the ladies room was beautifully clean & fresh. Very important!!

We ordered coffess and 5 bacon rolls (2 with egg) not exactly difficult! After an hour of waiting we had to ask for a refund we had a ferry to catch. Really disappointed we counted more than 6 staff working there and yet they couldn't organise 5 bacon rolls!

The food is good but the staff is amazing. This little restaurant is upstairs in a deli and all the employees are extremely friendly and helpful.
