The Kitchen Garden is a busy delicatessen and coffee shop. Our licensed coffee shop is located on a mezzanine floor which overlooks the delicatessen below. We offer freshly prepared, local, simple meals and can be busy during peak times. With regret we do not have lift access to the coffee shop but wheelchairs and buggies can be left in the deli, where the staff will keep an eye. Our deli is well stocked with several thousand lines from Scotland and beyond, with an emphasis on Scottish cheeses and whiskies.

A Part Time Cafe

We just fancied a savory snack such as a toastie before traveling home but we we're greeted with a sign at the foot of the stairs saying hot food was no longer available. At 15.45hrs this seems an unacceptable standard of customer service if a business wants to attract visitors to Oban.

Tearoom is upstairs and Deli downstairs. Service was rather slow and scones weren't the best. Bought some Stornoway Black Pudding which was much cheaper than that sold at The Oyster Bar at Loch Fyne

Decent cakes, decent coffee, and the staff do know how to smile. Also a great selection in the deli downstairs.

Could be a lovely tea-room, but badly let down by two very sullen staff, who seem unable to smile or make eye contact. Filter coffee was less than hot.

We visit Oban every winter and always lunch a couple of times at kitchen garden. After our visit yesterday lunch I do not think we will return. Both staff were sullen and gave no customer service actually made me feel like an inconvenience when I ordered, no eye contact or smile.

For visitors to Oban this is a "must" if you are looking for a nice cup of tea and a slice of cake or something more substantial. There is a good range of food to select from and the midday soup is delicious and plentiful. The restaurant does offer views of the Oban waterfront from its upstairs seating area whilst... More

Dropped in here for afternoon tea and cake all of which is homemade and very well presented. It is table service and the staff are very courtious.

We had afternoon tea and a breakfast here. It is small and very cosy (for this read squashed) but persevere....it is worth it. It does get very busy though and you may have to wait for a seat and wait for your food so don't be in a hurry. I had a cheese scone on one visit and then we... More

Wonderful cheese, good wine and amazing black pudding. But this shop sells really great fresh produce, from roasted garlic to amazing teas and very reasonable pottery. Well worth a visit. A deli with a difference!!
