Traditional pub

Visited the Lorne bar and had early evening dinner and was not disappointed. My woman had macaroni cheese and I had chicken melt with a tiny bucket of onion rings. Both meals were delicious and the bar staff very friendly . We returned on the Saturday evening and discovered that after 10.30 pm this... read more

This is a pub so the expectations for the food should be accordingly. We were pleased with the quality of the fish, obviously very fresh and cooked to perfection. The vegetables were just cooked, no sesoning, but this seems to be the normal thing here. They have draft Guiness. Typical relaxed pub atmosphere.

We knew we weren't going to get exquisite cuisine but the gammon looked like a rasher of bacon and the fish looked more like a battered minnow! Ordered sides that never came and got no apology when we pointed this out. Cheap but not so cheerful

When't into a local pub to find a very friendly bar with good food and fantastic live entertainment at weekends, Live solo artists and bands which in some places you would pay for. Clean and tidy bar with great friendly staff. Good prices for food and drink. Just a great night out , tell your friends

Popped in for lunch today after hearing about this pub and we were not disappointed. Lovely barmaid. Menu is not extensive - but it is still winter - what was on it was fine. We chose Macaroni Cheese and it was excellent! They have a pub quiz on Wednesday evening, so we will definitely go along for that.

A rather interesting place. During the day it is a normal little boozer - with very reasonably priced drinks (try the skittle bomb). However, late night on Friday and Saturday it takes something of a turn. The lighting rig is turned on giving a "disappointing school disco" aesthetic and the place becomes very busy (clearly one of the hottest spots... More

Not just tasty chips, the veggie burger was tasty as well. Washed down with Bitter & twisted blond beer. It was a shame that I didn't get a taste of the "Oban " malt whisky. I had wanted a taste before I bought a bottle. I got a "Tobermory " instead. Lovely.

Traumatised by the thunder and lightning, we sought sanctuary, and we found it. Staff were friendly and efficient. Food was honest, fresh pub grub. The chickpea and spinach burger was surprisingly moist and tasty. A good pint and pleasant atmosphere. Recommended!

Passing thru Oban for a few days and had another meal in the Lorne There is a new Winter Menu at £4 and £5 with all the Pub Favourites on it you could want at terrific prices - especially for families - probably to compete with Wetherspoons. We only wanted a quick Meal /snack Lunch and that was what we... More
