Nice "watering hole"

Excellent beer here! Food was good, had a nice lunch consisting of an oven baked potato with haggis, a treat washed down with a flavoursome pint of Vital Spark from Fyne Ales brewed in Argyll

Cullen Skink brought us in and we came back because they were out the first night. Staff is wonderfully friendly and we enjoyed the atmosphere. Grilled Haddock was delicious, but the vegetables which were excellent but more than I needed with cullen skink as the first course. Reasonable drink prices. Fine selection of single malts. I liked Oban 14 and... More

Didn't eat here, but was a very pleasant bar, traditional Cheers type bar in the middle, covered smoking area and beer garden, which was actually very pleasant to sit in.

We stopped in for a quick supper at about 7 and we closed down the establishment. We made friends with other travellers from Scotland and decided to stay for Quiz night. We ate and drank for the evening for under 45 pounds. Would highly recommend and would go back, wait staff and patrons were very friendly!

We were very glad to have a nice cold Ginger Grouse, which is unfortunately hard to come by. The Fish and Chips were average, perfectly acceptable but not stellar. Service was OK. It's a neat, historic building and could use a spruce-up.

We only had time for a couple of drinks which we had in the outdoor seating area as it was a nice sunny day. The beer was good, and the staff and customers were friendly. The only downside was they recommended The Light of India restaurant a couple of doors away which was dreadful!

Great food and good prices. Went for lunch - portion sizes were generous and the prices were reasonable.

We ate at their outside patio area and enjoyed an appetizer and some adult beverages. There is no view, but it was a lovely day and it was a nice place to rest for a bit.

Been for a few drinks on the pub quiz night. Most bizarre pub quiz ever, the young presented lad, insisted on marking every ones score sheet every ten questions. Was 60 questions, so took 3 1/2 hours.

Excellent fish dishes, and the beer selection was pretty good. Their guide to their whiskies was informative and a facility other bars could usefully adopt. Very helpful staff and a nice atmosphere. Perhaps the victorian grandure was a little faded but it may have added to the relaxed feel
