great value lunch and shelter from the elements

Feast for a fiver on many pub classics - enchilada and fish supper hit all the right notes. Friendly service - well worth a try.

What a fabulous place we stumbled across! A massive portion of fish and chips for a fiver, well worth a visit!

We visited on Saturday the 30th of January and so glad we found it! The food in our hotel was pretty bad so we were desperate for something nice! Staff were great, food was even better. Extremely reasonable prices and we were even given a bowl of water for our dog.

This pub has it all.... Good staff, Chris remembered our round on just 1 visit. Great food we paid a fiver for fish and chips and a fiver for filled burrito could not fault it. Got stuff on through the week. Great wee outside area with heat. And they have an amazing cat called Niall how likes to visit u... More

We ate in here on Saturday night and the food was delicious. For starters we had the cullen skink soup which was the best I have tasted, then my wife had the cheeseburger, chips and salad . I had the pork with a sauce and potatoes which was lovely and it only cost £5 each for the main courses. The... More

This friendly, slightly scruffy traditional pub has been through any number of iterations over the years. It has changed hands twice in the last few months and now seems to have settled to a limited but adequate menu which, I guess, is for the Winter months only. There are a number of main courses at £5 each and, after very... More

This is a funky, vibrant bar that serves great food during the day and has a good variety of entertainment on at night; it's definitely the place to be if you want a change from the traditional 'tartan' style of entertainment so common in Oban; live bands are usually of good standard and the bar gets very busy at the... At lunchtime I ate haddock with chips for £5 and was impressed. My wife had a spicy chicken pizza which she liked and was offered a free glass of wine due to a 15 min wait for food

Decided to spend Hogmanay here as we were staying in the hotel a few doors down and the weather wasn't great so didn't want to venture too far. So glad we did as it was a great night. We only intended staying till just after the bells but ended up being one of the last to leave at 3am!! The... More

The Lorne was our hang-out after our road trips touring Scotland. We loved their Cullen Skink, fish and chips, and steamed mussels. Free Wi-Fi to download photos and videos to send back to the states! There is a great parking lot close by for travelers as well. We traveled there in June, and we are still thinking about The Lorne... More
