We were out for the day and found ourselves in Forfar. By chance we came across The Queen St. Tavern. The shared nachos were great .The portions huge. Followed with the curry of the day again tasty well presented and big portion. My wife had the Fish and chips which again ticked all the boxes. Nice lady serving the lounge,... More

Don't normally like carvery as it can be dry, cold and lack of taste, however visited this cosy wee tavern last night and was pleasantly surprised. Service - first class Food - first class Overall dining - first class Food - turkey was very moist and succulent, ham wasn't too salty, pork great, beef was a super cut. Steak pie... More

We visited the queen street tavern for lunch the other day and i was delighted with the food and staff! All very friendly and attentive, food was tasty and their carvery is to die for! Would recommend to anyone in surrounding areas. Even my little puppy max was allowed in the bar whilst we visited! Exceptional! See you again soon... More

We never stayed long enough to eat ... Unwelcoming unsmiling unfriendly horrible woman that showed us to a gloomy table.. Bar surrounded by drinking men... Then informed that if our two year old made a noise we would have to move into an empty room.. No other customers bar us ... Shocking way to treat paying customers... AVOID !!!!

Great wee place for a meal waiting staff always very pleasant. Always have the steak pie keep meaning to have something else but the steak pie is just so good, piping hot and decent sized potions too if I fancy desert have to leave my chips or roasties. Deserts are rather decent too and reasonably priced which is a bonus!

Had another great Sunday dinner and brought more family with us this time. All enjoyed, but it was very hot - please open windows when the heat lamps are on. Fab choice of meats and the Steak Pie is every bit as good as the Birkhill Inn 'Award winning' pie. So no need to travel through to Dundee for best... More
