Description: Named after a local term for herring, Silver Darling makes the most of a superb spot at the entrance of Aberdeen harbour. Built on the flat roof of the old customs house, the conservatory style restaurant commands panoramic views of the Dee estuary one side, and the length of the beach and headland the other (summer sunsets are priceless). A classic French menu is a triumph of superbly presented dishes, singing with flavour. Three courses at dinner could start with oysters marinated with lime and Granny Smiths, followed by pan-fried Atlantic sea bream in red wine, and the dessert du jour.

I attended a private function in this restaurant. It must have been about twenty years sinse was last there and a time when I did not enjoy fish. I think this caused a lot of issues...... It is a beautiful place with an excellent view of the harbour for those maritime minded. It was dark but the vessels coming and... More

Food was very good. Fish cooked perfectly. Presentation beautiful - only down sides with the food was the desert - not up to the standard of the starters and main and you certainly do not get very much veg with your meal to go towards your 5 aday. Service was very good. Staff very helpful and friendly. Would be a... More

We have been to many restaurants in the Aberdeen area and this is our favourite place to eat lunch. We understand that the owner is trying to sell the business we just hope that he will stay for a bit longer so that we can enjoy his wonderful food, service, and atmosphere a little while longer! Thank you for such... More

Second time I have visited but not in a number of years. I was not disappointed! Food is excellent and the views over the Harbour are very good. If you struggle with stairs then I advise not to go as you climb the spiral staircase. (Did not see a lift but there may be one hidden) Best to check. This... More

After some of my work colleagues told me about this place I had to give it a go only to be disappointed. The service was very good but that’s where it stopped. For a seafood restaurant it only had 3 choices of fish on the main menu. They had run out of what I ordered and they gave me something... More

The Sirver Darling restaurant offers excellent food and a very professional service. The fish was perfectly cooked and tasty. As we wanted a light dinner, we asked for desert a one scoop ice-cream. We we served a delicious sorbet which could only be home-made. The price was in line with the overall quality. We will have to go back for... More

This is a taste of the sea by the sea. Our monkfish was cooked perfectly, little touches in the presentation and service make this peaceful Seaside retreat perfect for dining in a romantic capacity. Worth every penny (its not cheap)

This was recommended by the hotel we were staying in. It took us a while to find it but it was worth the search. Service was prompt and friendly. A small complimentary appetizer sampler was brought to the table for each person that was well presented and very tasty. We tried a few of the starters such as the salmon... More

This currently is my favourite restaurant in Aberdeen by quite a distance.I often lunch there on a Friday to enjoy the excellent views of the beach and Aberdeen Harbour and indeed the cuisine. Lunch is brilliant value yet the quality of the food is undiminished. Obviously the leaning is towards fish but the menu is wide and varied. No matter... More

Almost cold starter (scallops)........fish and chips for main - soggy chips - the pair of waiters could not get the plates from us quick enough and they alone were enough to put me off returning. During the summer I had a nice meal there, one of the same waiters was also over bearing suggesting I tip him heavily !. I... More
