We are an independent lunchtime destination serving well priced freshly made soup and sandwiches from same day baked organic bread using local ingredients and quality ingredients where the filling is not local. Our soups are made on the premises same day as are all our cakes. Our coffee is roasted locally (one street away) and we don't use preservatives. We aim to provide quality and taste with a smile. Do come try us. We look forward to seeing you. The Coffee House Team.

I used to love going to the Coffeehouse because of its good food, great atmosphere and good service but then I found out how terribly the employees were treated. Who I believe is the owner would opening yell at his employees over small mistakes in front of customers and when a customer came to their defence he also screamed at.... More

Dear Alex, We are really happy we could meet your expectations and present you good food, great atmosphere and good service. It is a pity though that you decided to give us just one star based on rumours of people whom you have not met, instead of having your experiences as a base to the review. Like we wrote in... More

I think the food is totally substandard and overpriced. The whole place has this really supercilious vibe, like because the premises are nice, they can get away with everything else. The first time I went there, with a party of 6, we all ordered and paid for soup, only to then be informed that there was only one bowl left,... More

Dear Ian, Thank you for your review. If the soups really finished after you already have paid for them – we apologize for that. And we are sorry if you did not like the taste. But you shouldn’t involve your imagination creating conspiracy theories about the owners going around the cafe and diluting soups as it is absolute nonsense. Kind... More

Outraged!! ... A friend and I went to the Coffee House in Gaelic Lane for lunch today and while we were being served (very politely by a lovely smiley waitress), the manager and owner came over and interrupted to give her a severe talking to. She went off, obviously upset, apologising to us as she did so, as he marched... More

Dear Sonjaraz, Thank you very much for compliments to our food and coffee, we all as a team try to deliver the best to our customers. And we are sincerely sorry, that your latest visit included a misunderstanding. The situations not always are like they seem to a passer-by and interference sometimes just flames a minor misunderstanding into some unexpected... More

First impressions were really positive - huge, laid back space with scrubbed pine tables, fairy lights and an inviting menu. However this didn't last. Ordered a bacon toastie - bacon was really tasty but undercooked and very fatty - and was not offered a choice of breads yet I got brown bread and my friend white bread. My peppermint tea... More

Dear Jo, Thank you for your review. We are happy, that you liked our premises, atmosphere and that you still found the bacon tasty, even if it was too fatty for you. We will try to see to the options with our supplier if there is a possibility to order even leaner bacon and hope that next time your impressions... More

I've only ever been for a cuppa and a cake, not a full lunch. Their prices are very reasonable for their produce. However, finding a table can sometimes be a struggle but I think that's more down to couples taking up tables that could sit 4-6 people. Maybe the cafe needs to think about setting up a service where you're... More

Was in Aberdeen for the day and a friend suggested we visit The Coffee House for lunch, looked great inside, menu sounded delicious - pretty pricey but I hear that's Aberdeen in general - and had a lovely selection of cold drinks and coffee syrups on offer. Went for the soup and sandwich deal with a Chai latte. The coffee... More

I'm a regular at the coffee house and for a reason. The staff are always friendly and professional even in the busy periods. The food is great, including the great selection of cakes and sandwiches. Such a welcoming place to relax. Would recommend!

Used to enjoy going there for lunch, not any more, the soup was horrible no taste what so ever, we ordered sandwiches which was to have mayonnaise on it no signs of any on ours, they got the bread mixed up, staff not exactly welcoming, place needs a good clean, we were in there just after 11am, so it's not...
