Me and my friend recently visited Derry. We were invited in to have a look at the menu while we were walking on the city walls. We said we will give it a thought but returned about an hour later. The waiter recognised us immediately. Everything he said was true: great food (that doesn't even describe the starters, which were... More

We called in for coffee having read a review on trip advisor. We immediately decided to come back for lunch. The atmosphere of the cafe was very warm and friendly. The staff all seem to have beards and tattoos and the clientele was a great mixture of young trendies and old dogies (me!) We were three generations and the youngest... More

Only popped in for a coffee but it felt cool, arty, relaxing and easy going - just how a good cafe should be. And the coffee was good too.

Cathy was very nice to us, discussing the fresh catch of the day. We were there for lunch but wished we could have stayed for dinner, Cathy having described her arrangement with the local fishermen who bring in their catch, fresh that afternoon, ready for a great chef to prep. The meal we _did_ have blew us away! Fantastic!

Every time my sister and I go shopping in Derry we stop at the Cafe Del Mondo for the Fish and Chips. We have tried this dish in various other lovely restaurants in Northern Ireland, and although they were good, the comment always seems to be 'not as good as Cafe Del Mondo'.

I've been to Cafe del Mondo probably 30 times at this point and the reason i keep going back is simple; Great food, great people, great atmosphere, reasonable prices and good location. Enough said.

Food and food prices were great and when we were served the staff were very friendly however it was slow and out food once we finally ordered took almost 1 hour to arrive. We were only their for lunch. We were offered and received a free round of drinks which helped. My group of friends found the food prices great... More

Being in Derry for the jazz festival, and having had lunch here once before (last summer) it looked like a good choice for lunch. It was very busy and the staff were rushed off their feet, but none the less took time to smile and say hello. We ordered our lunch and waited, and waited, and watched other tables fill... More

Staff lovely and surroundings delightful but food offering worst than pathetic. Ordered coffee and mixed salad with artisan bread. Bread was like something out of local supermarket and salad consisted of a tomato sliced in four, a few sad lonely lettuce leaves, brown totally bland rice and a small helping of coleslaw. Very disappointing. No receipt given either but salad... More

Great to be able applaud a local business which makes your city a better place to be. Terrific, almost continental atmosphere and warm, welcoming staff. But foremost - delectable food with a variety of daily specials - and the best fish and chips in town.
