The upstairs room in this sea front restaurant is a good place from which to admire the coast, the mountains and happy holiday makers. It may be a small place as resturants go, but there is a fairly good range of items on the menu, and the staff are friendly.

I've just had the most delicious dinner served by two of the most pleasant members of staff I've ever been served by called Carol & Alana. The food was plentiful and fresh, hot and full of flavour. The cafe was busy and was very clean and tidy. Well done the Strand.

First time been to Newcastle in years my family decided to try here, served straight away, got our food quickly, but it was just about editable beacon looked and tasted as if had been cooked and later reheated, sausages were pink in the middle and soda and potato bread tasted weird, went to use the bathrooms they were disgusting one... Not expensive but not the most up to date nor the cleanest or tidiest. It has outside sitting on the footpath unprotected from the passing foot traffic.

I was in on sunday (26-1-14) with my family for a sunday lunch that we were looking forward to. It was our first time being in Newcastle and I just feel the need that I have to give credit to the excellent service that we got from the waitress. She was a bubbly beautiful young lady that took our order,... More

Visited on 22nd dec. we always go to the Strand because of the fabulous view. But on the last few occasions service has been poor. This time was true lily awful. Waited over ten minutes for someone to serve us despite going downstairs to alert the staff there to our presence. When the waitress finally turned up upstairs, she was... More

My family and I had lunch here recently with our two young kids. It's the perfect place to go with wee ones, the staff were friendly and didn't mind the noise or mess that our kids created. Lovely traditional type dinners which suited us perfectly. Finished off with an ice cream for everyone which was gorgeous. If you're in newcastle... More

What a pleasant place to have lunch either sitting outside and watch the passers by or the sea views from upstairs. The food was great, plentiful and inexpensive, and the icecream was as good as i have tasted anywhere. highly recommended.

Normally I wouldn't bother writing a review but after reading your hugely derogative response to another trip advisor review I now feel compelled to. I was absolutely astounded to see an allegedly popular, 83 year old business resorting to attacking a persons grammar in response to a negative review. I am almost embarrassed on your behalf if you think it... More

Hi Grammar Police, Thank you for taking time to post a review again. We appreciate all comments and feedback on our 83 year old successful business and we are pleased to report to you that we have never been busier particularly in our ice cream sales. In fact, if you read the Belfast telegraph today -13th July- you will find... More
