I have lived in South and South East Asia for many years, and have also eaten in many Indian restaurants in England - and this is one of the best, if not the best, Indian restaurants I have ever eaten in. The mixed starters (including Pakoras, Onion Bhaji, samosas and sukuti - a Nepalese way of preparing slivers of meat)... More

We are regular customers to the Cinnamon Club where Mohan has done the business with superb food, friendly staff and authentic Indian cuisine. Try the Peshawar Naan - It's the best around!

The food is totally excellent. The staff are very friendly, although the barman did not really speak English... We ordered wine and found out it was the last bottle of that one, so we had a different 2nd bottle, that was also the last of the line, so a different 3rd bottle.. But I really could not fault the food.... More

I booked a table for 3 on Friday night. We were seated quickly and drinks order taken. We were shown to our table upstairs and our order was placed. Starters arrived, tapas to share. This was gorgeous, full of flavour. The mains arrived and mine, chicken rezzala, which I've ate there before, was totally spoiled by overspicing. When I've had... More

Was in with a wedding crew a few nights ago. Food was tasty, nothing mind blowing, but solid. Service was not good. Didn't appreciate one of the foreign staff, owners perhaps, abuse a waitress in front of us. Also I really hate service staff deliberately avoiding eye contact when you're waving your arms about trying to get the bill. Also... More

I have waited a year to post a review of The Cinnamon Club, primarily because I don't visit the restaurant but use the takeaway facility. Newcastle, for many years, needed a variation from the standard burger/pizza/chicken/chinese takeaway/restaurant. Having lived and worked in Pakistan & India I was delighted when an Indian takeaway opened near my front door. Unfortunately the first... More

Had a fantastic meal tonight in new Cinnamon Indian restaurant Came out with a group of 8 people and every one of us loved the food. The manager Mohan was friendly, polite and tended to our every need. He heard a table behind us had someone celebrating a birthday and he surprised them with a birthday cake and a bottle... More

Right next to the Slieve Donard hotel, my husband and I had a great "no kid" night here. If you are an American, try any dish that has lamb or seafood--and the Peshwari naan (a sweet naan compared to ones I've had at home). The cocktails were well-priced and delicious, as were all of the entrees!
