Waited over 40 mins. for lunch to arrive! Food was lovely when it eventually arrived, however the long wait did put us off!! Another family at the table beside us had a similar wait and had to leave without finishing their lunch as they had an appointment to attend. Not good for a less busy time of year!!

I've been to Maud's quite a few times but was disappointed today. Service was poor and slow and the food was bland. Won't be rushing back!

Maud's is in a lovely location, you can wander along the promenade and when you reach the main street, there it is, a welcome sight. It always has a buzz inside, it's spotlessly clean, the staff are efficient and the cakes are always amazing!

Soo we were in Maudes today. I ordered and pre paid for a bowl of soup. When the food arrived for my companions, I asked where my soup was, the server responded that they were out of soup. I stated that I had pre paid for soup. His response? Well I'm too busy you need to go and sort it... More

If you love ice-cream and cakes this will be your choice in Newcastle. I always enjoy their "banna-split"! Generally busy, especially in high season, but the "self-service" is good - and the staff helpful and friendly. Cleanliness and hygiene good. Outside seating with a view of the sea & the Shimna Estuary. Prices good. Recommended.

Have seen this cafe on numerous occasions but today we decided to call in for something to eat. I had a bacon, lettuce and tomato on lovely granary bread and my husband had a scone with butter and jam. We had a large latte and a large cappuccino and the bill came to just over £10 which I thought was... More

We always call in for a coffee when in Newcastle. Stunning views and great coffee, scones are also worth trying.

Maud’s has a great location; unfortunately the same cannot be said for the service, food or atmosphere.

Food ok, but found a hair in my sandwich and fork wasn't clean!! Think I'll stick to café Crème across the street!

Went here recently for a late lunch. I usually go to cafe creme but decided on somewhere different. A friend and I had tomato and lentil soup with wheaten bread and mum had a scone and coffee. The soup was barely lukewarm and was served with burnt wheaten which was not impressive. Fair enough the waitress took my soup to... More
