Tried this restaurant at the start of the month and the food was very good. For me I like the service was it was excellent and the best part of my experience. If you haven't been yet do try.

Excellent cocktails before a 'Masterchef'-style meal. I had the lamb with gnocchi... the pasta was light as air, the meat on the rare side of pink for my taste, but everything was beautifully presented and the service was excellent. This is possibly Newcastle's most 'fine-diningy' restaurant and my only quibble would be that, as such, it needs to have a... More

We thoroughly enjoyed the busy lunchtime atmosphere of this cafe cum bistro. The food was as good many five restaurants I've visited over the years. My fishcakes were light, fluffy, and full of flavour. The bill didn't sting the wallet either. A definite 'must visit' if you're looking for a great lunch while shopping in town.

This is one of the best value restaurants I have ever visited. We booked for 7.30pm and still got the early bird menu. This meant 3 courses each, plus a couple of glasses of wine & coffee for just over £50. At home I would expect to be paying into 3 figures for the same quality. The food would be... More

Had a beautiful meal there last Saturday night. The staff were able to fit myself and my husband and 7y month old daughter at no notice and were very attentive to us throughout the meal without being overly intrusive. This is our second visit to Vanilla on our annual holiday to Newcastle. We had a baby sitter for the night so wanted somewhere nice to go for just the two of us. Food and service were great. I had the venison and my wife had lamb . All perfectly cooked. If visiting again I will try to sit closer... More

My wife & I have not been in Newcastle for a couple of years. We ended up arriving in the resort to- day just for a stroll along the prom with the roar of a high tide breaking over the shingle beach. On our previous visit we had a very tasty lunch in this bistro, so to-day we located Vanilla... More

Believe the hype this is one of the best restaurants in northen Ireland. Exceptional food executed by professional chefs and served by staff who know how to make you feel welcomed and valued. Beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean this restaurant draws you in and wraps you in a food extravaganza. Flavours abound and you just don't want the plate of... More

I last ate here years ago and was pleasantly surprised. Having heard both positive and negative opinions recently I tried to go with an open mind. Can only really speak for my own dishes as I didn't taste much of my companion's. My risotto was a small portion of over seasoned mush. One would expect a risotto to be salty,... More
