Great food, nice wine offerings. Comfortable atmosphere for visiting and eating. A return visit will be on agenda next time in the area.

Four of us had a dinner here and it was great. We had no reservation and there was a very large table in, so we wondered about how good the service would be, however the service was first class and the food was delicious. There was a very good range of seafood and vegetarian options as well as plenty of... More

This place is terrific. Modern interior, well furnished, great attentive service. The food was delicious. I had the potato leek soup which came with their bread of the day, which was two slices of the ubiquitous Irish brown bread (excellent here), with two toppings: pesto sauce and a tomato chutney. Both very flavorful. My BF had the seafood stew, which... More

Just arrived, unplanned, in Newcastle and my wife and I enquired about a meal in Vanilla. No problem, and our choice of the 'Early Bird' proved to be an excellent one. A wide array of starters and a main course saw us tucking into a delicious meal, beautifully presented and an explosion of flavours! The staff were always on hand... More

Excellent cocktails before a 'Masterchef'-style meal. I had the lamb with gnocchi... the pasta was light as air, the meat on the rare side of pink for my taste, but everything was beautifully presented and the service was excellent. This is possibly Newcastle's most 'fine-diningy' restaurant and my only quibble would be that, as such, it needs to have a... More

We thoroughly enjoyed the busy lunchtime atmosphere of this cafe cum bistro. The food was as good many five restaurants I've visited over the years. My fishcakes were light, fluffy, and full of flavour. The bill didn't sting the wallet either. A definite 'must visit' if you're looking for a great lunch while shopping in town.

This is one of the best value restaurants I have ever visited. We booked for 7.30pm and still got the early bird menu. This meant 3 courses each, plus a couple of glasses of wine & coffee for just over £50. At home I would expect to be paying into 3 figures for the same quality. The food would be... More
