I visited the Percy French with my husband while enjoying our stay at Slieve Donard. We knew we would dine at the hotel most of the evenings so on our arrival day we decided to have dinner at the Percy French. The location is fantastic and also very convenient both for the hotel guests and "outsiders". We sat at the table... More

I visited the Percy French with my husband & 2 children for lunch at the weekend. The setting is beautiful & it is well decorated. I had high expectations of the meal. Unfortunately the service was poor. It took forever for the meal to be served & considering the restaurant was pretty quiet & there was nothing complex about the... More

Popped in to the Percy French last night at around 7.30pm (Sunday 13th April) for a nice meal with a friend. On arrival it took approx. 5 mins for someone to greet us, 3 members of staff clearly seeing that we were waiting. A gentleman told us they could not take us as they were full (the restaurant looked around... More

The food & wine was gorgeous, the staff were extremely helpful, The menu was very varied, from burgers to fabulous Irish seafood. can't wait to eat here again.

This was a superb experience, great choice of menu for young and old, nice and reasonably priced wine, and the staff were really friendly and helpful Highly recommend the daube of beef but in fairness it all looked good, loved the atmosphere and a big thank you to Sonya and the staff.

We were staying in the Slieve Donard hotel and had pre booked a table in the Percy French. Very friendly manager and waiting staff. We ordered deep fried brie which came strangely enough on a bed of shredded iceberg lettuce and some large orange slices. The large orange slices showed up again on the desert, must have had a job... Mid week lunch not too many people around but yet the service was less than attentive to say the least and had a rather long wait. Drinks and meal had to paid separately probably because you may get fed up waiting and walk out. Eventually we got a table in a rather dull restaurant but with a nice view. The... More

As a fussy London type, I didn't expect to be blown away by the Percy French but I absolutely was. Recent revamp has given the place a real lift but what really delighted was the service & the food. Ingredients were fresh, local, of the best quality & artfully put together. Smoked haddock main was divine with all flavours perfectly... More

So good I have been there three times in the one week each time bringing different friends to experience the excellent service delicious food and the atmosphere is second to none. There is no where in Newcastle so relaxing and accommodating. On Sunday the 16th five of us went for an early dinner to discover there was great music and... More

As we had along weekend, we decided to take the kids to Newcastle and we stayed at the Slieve Donard. We ate at the Percy French on Friday night, which was their opening night after being closed for renovations! It looks fantastic and the atmosphere was great, they had live music, unfortunately we had to leave as it was late... More
