We're 15 minutes walk from Paddy's Barn and have been eating there, had family functions and friends staying on numerous occasions over the years. It's a country pub, restaurant, B&B and the atmosphere in the pub/restaurant has ranged from quiet and tranquil on a cold midweek winter's evening, welcomed, and backside warmed by a hot Rayburn stove, to lively, jovial,... The only place where to eat in the nearby, but they serve really good food! They prepared us whatever we ordered even though the kitchen was almost close. Then we have some nice time talking with the owner and some locals.

3rd time we have stayed here & the staff are friendly especially the owner Gabriel. Food is good, reasonably priced & plenty. At the back of the restaurant/pub is the accomodation (paddys sleepy orchard) Which is quiet & peaceful Surrounded by beautiful countryside. Walking distance to st Patricks statue up on the hill.Near downpatrick town centre. And a short drive to strangford... More

Found this place by complete chance, but made the day. First look at the menu, and we thought it was basic and cheap. It was cheap, portions were huge and when basic is done right, its hard to beat, and they did it right. Service was great, staff were friendly and atmosphere was good. We all left happy and will... Plenty of good food, way too much for me and I felt guilty leaving food on the plate and the most amazing artefacts around the walls and on the ceiling. There was everything bar the kitchen sink inside.

Warm and friendly bar, lots to look at, excellent staff. Went for Sunday dinner which was well presented and tasty. There was only one other couple there, a family was coming in as we left. Can't help wondering if their prices are keeping people away. At £34 for two of us its at least £10 more expensive than many of... More

We went to Paddy's Barn for a family birthday meal a week ago and whilst we were a little unsure what to expect (Note: not too many restaurants to choose from in the immediate Downpatrick area), we had a great dining experience. There were 17 of us and, as a result, there was a wide variety of chosen dishes. Everyone... More
