Visited on a busy Saturday night in August, staff we're very friendly on arrival, as it was so busy we we're advised that there would be a wait on a table & our food but it give us time to enjoy a drink of the local ciders & get chatting to a few of the locals. When we did get... More

Called in on a busy Friday evening after friends recommendation, on arrival greeted by pleasant staff who informed us they would get us first free available table. Drinks and menu brought to us while we sat at the bar by the time we chose from the extensive menu & specials board table was ready. I opted for the fish special... More

We visited the cafe bar for the first time as 3 adults and 1 child. 2 of us ordered from the lunch menu. Home made chips were very good, the burger was good beef and well cooked with a chargrilled taste, salt n chilli chicken was very tasty and so was the coleslaw. The other adult ordered gammon from the... More

Went there on a wet Sunday afternoon and had a pleasant surprise, the food was very good and the service was excellent. The Fresh fruit salad with pavlova was the best I have had, the Strawberries where sweeter than any I have ever tasted in my home Australia. I would have no hesitation in returning there for a meal. (if... More

Tried this eatery for the first time with large group of friends. Fancied the 10oz fillet steak and as I was last to order only 6 oz left. Being a bit cheeky I asked the waitress if she could just get the chef to cook me two six ounce steaks then and that I would pay a bit extra tho... More

Visited Grouchos again at the weekend and had another great night of food and service. 4 diners, 4 different meals, all 4 were served piping hot and tasty, so 4 very happy diners. Its good to find somewhere that not only serves great food at good value prices but is also consistent, (especially important when taking friends out or recommending... More

Was so pleased Grouchos was open over the Easter holidays. The sun was shining in through the not so many windows, but enough to read todays papers that were sitting around. Service was great as always and even grouchy Peter seemed happy in the sunshine. The starter for two was good and nothing left of that but loved my fillet... More

Went for dinner one Thursday night, have previously had some great experiences here, however this time not so, staff superfriendly, but food lacked appeal, and the place feels tired and lacks the energy and buzz it once had.

My first choice to eat/drink! Good honest freshly made food cooked to order everytime! Fantastic selection of local beers and ciders some of which are worth a try - especially the McGraths no.1 pale ale and the mcivors traditional dry cider. Staff are always very helpful and even on busy nights they make time for you and your needs -... More

Having heard excellent reports about Grouchos I decided to take my wife and kids out for a meal on Saturday night as my wife was working all day on Mothers Day. On arrival we were met quickly and informed that there were no tables at the minute and that there was an hour wait on the food leaving the kitchen,... More
