I have just had the most amazing evening at the Cookery School with 10 other colleagues. Brian the Chef has the perfect temperament to place non-culinarians at ease, yet still accomplish great things from us! The food was amazing and I have a new dish for the next dinner party. Conor, our server was never intrusive, but the wine glass... More

Revisited after 10 years on anniversary of my dining partner's retirement. New layout of the restaurant a great improvement. Food was delicious. Mackerel and monkfish for me, skate and halibut for him. The presentation and variety of tastes we could not fault. The buttery champ was super! Our accompanying wines perfectly chosen with the help of the lovely Dearvla who... More

I was invited to a family event at this restaurant for what was billed as a fine dining experience and what an experience. I must say that I had not been looking forward to this event as I don't like this type of establishment as I normally find them stuffy and over stated but how wrong can one be. The... More

At just over £100 for a 3 course meal for two with wine, it's certainly not cheap, but far from extortionate also. To start I had the Crab Lasagne. I would not recommend at all, it just wasn't very nice and somewhat strange. My boyfriend had the ox cheek and it was certainly nicer, but he said he wasn't overly... More

Really enjoyed our evening. As others have said the crab lasagna was delicious, though I would expect all dishes to be nice. Will be back next time in Belfast.

His Lordship and I went to James Street South for a late lunch at the Bistro. It was fantastic. T had a delicious retro prawn cocktail and I had lentil soup that was a revelation. None of that red thick and tasteless glup one usually gets served up. This was puy lentils in a light broth. Lovely. T had coq... More
