I have eaten in this restaurant on many many occasions which never fails to impress. On my recent visit the new fit out makes the place look a lot bigger, bright and modern. The food was super and service was impeccable. Don't miss this culinary experience when deciding to go fine dining in Belfast, you won't be disappointed.

My wife and I chose to return here for our wedding anniversary, having first visited around a year earlier. Whilst it was expensive the first time, the food really was something special and we both felt it was value for money. Unfortunately this view changed upon our return. Whilst the prices remained high, the food was merely average. Not bad... More

Ate in James Street South last night with some friends and was blown away with the place. Niall McKenna has put together the perfect combination of fantastic food and personal service - professional but not stuffy. Deborah (Debs) looked after our table with great attentiveness and panache. We had great fun with her and she was knowledgeable about the menu... More

I came here with 5 friends and we had a wonderful time – barman on top form - had to be dragged to the table we were having such a good time. Wonderful food - especially enjoyed the lamb and terrific service which made our evening perfect. Would thoroughly recommend.

I popped in quite late (almost 10pm) just to get a small meal - it was superb. The beef carpaccio starter was meltingly soft and full of flavour.. The pappardelle with tomato and parmesan was at once incredibly simple and utterly delicious. It was probably the best pasta dish I have tasted in the last 5 years. Nothing more to... More

Had an early table here with friends on a busy Saturday evening in Belfast. I havent been in years and had great memories and expectations. I was not disappointed. The quality of the food and the attentiveness of the friendly staff was very impressive. It is less formal than I remembered but first class dining, beautifully presented food with interesting... My friends and I decided to give James St South a go. We had eaten here about 5 years ago and were not impressed. I am do glad we decided to try it again. The restaurant was buzzing. Not sure if that's because it was restaurant week or that's the norm. Really good vibe about the place which was definitely... More

We had a lovely meal here. Not familiar with the town but our concierge recommended this place. Two of us had steak third had trout. All very tasty well presented and fresh. Sides were good. Really enjoyed the peach/amaretto dessert amd the rice/berry brulee. Staff were busy but friendly. The tables were full and we could see the chef from... More

Nowhere to sit for apertif except one's table. Only offered water upon arrival and had to ask for g&t. Food nicely presented and tasty. Coffee roasted carrots very nice as was wood pigeon, both coming with tasty small extras. Nice fillet steak. Braised lamb came with a separate "shepherd's pie" which was basically shredded braised lamb in foam. Greens and... More
