First time sushi train virgin

I have never eaten on a sushi train before, strange as I have ate all over the world in all sorts of restaurants, but this was a brilliant way to start a new food romance. The sushi train was brilliant, not mass produced chain style, four types of dishes from 2 pounds to £3.50 and all wonderfully... read more

We've been there today, tried the sushi train and mizo soup. The place is very much packed, mostly with students from around the area. Tables are close to each other and privacy around your table is therefore non-existent. The plates, glasses, etc. were old and overused and some of those were not clean either. The waitresses are nice and the... More

Great food, delicious with plenty of it and a great range to choose from. Service was very good and the staff were friendly. Would definitely recommend.

Great food for really good value! Really fresh and really well presented. If you're visiting Belfast and you like sushi, that's where you want to go!

Decided to finally try out this place as my family loves japanese food. Although the service was very good, the quality of the food was a let down and a big disappointment. The seaweed used to the wrapped the sushi and the hand rolls were artificial, tough and not of good quality. The miso soup which is a simple dish... More

We love our Japanese cuisine. Sadly, Sakura didn't meet our expectations which isn't their fault, we're fussy. The menu and sushi train looked great. Not sure how Chef prepares the sushi rice, but it was cold, hard and tasteless which was disappointing. Hubby's katsudon was tasty; daughter loved her authentic ikura. Despite that, the place was full, so that's great!... More

I went with my family, convincing them to try some japanese, as it is my favourite food. The staff were lovely, and the menu looked great; pricey, but this added to the expectation that we were in for a treat. The food was generally average, but the sushi in particular was very poor, and I felt very let down. I... More

Nice service and interior, GREAT food, and good value for money (especially in the case of the chirashi don.) Until my experience at Sakura last month I had not been able to find a good chirashi don ('assorted sashimi rice') since discovering a love for this dish while in Japan. It's a huge test of the quality and freshness of... More

I've been visiting Sakura for years now, about 3 times a month since it opened both for dining in and takeout. It's my favourite restaurant in Belfast. The sushi is the best I've ever had outside of Japan, and even better than a lot we ate in Tokyo! Our favourites are the deep fried shrimp rolls and the red dragon... More
