Really fresh food

Great food for really good value! Really fresh and really well presented. If you're visiting Belfast and you like sushi, that's where you want to go!

Decided to finally try out this place as my family loves japanese food. Although the service was very good, the quality of the food was a let down and a big disappointment. The seaweed used to the wrapped the sushi and the hand rolls were artificial, tough and not of good quality. The miso soup which is a simple dish... More

We love our Japanese cuisine. Sadly, Sakura didn't meet our expectations which isn't their fault, we're fussy. The menu and sushi train looked great. Not sure how Chef prepares the sushi rice, but it was cold, hard and tasteless which was disappointing. Hubby's katsudon was tasty; daughter loved her authentic ikura. Despite that, the place was full, so that's great!... More

I went with my family, convincing them to try some japanese, as it is my favourite food. The staff were lovely, and the menu looked great; pricey, but this added to the expectation that we were in for a treat. The food was generally average, but the sushi in particular was very poor, and I felt very let down. I... More

Nice service and interior, GREAT food, and good value for money (especially in the case of the chirashi don.) Until my experience at Sakura last month I had not been able to find a good chirashi don ('assorted sashimi rice') since discovering a love for this dish while in Japan. It's a huge test of the quality and freshness of... More

I've been visiting Sakura for years now, about 3 times a month since it opened both for dining in and takeout. It's my favourite restaurant in Belfast. The sushi is the best I've ever had outside of Japan, and even better than a lot we ate in Tokyo! Our favourites are the deep fried shrimp rolls and the red dragon... More

Unfortunately I haven't had the most pleasant experience on ordering a take away from Sakura. The staff were lovely, however, the food let me down... The tempura rolls were very okish, I still wonder what was wrong with the batter. The rice wasn't the best neither, on the nigiri's it was just big lumps of dry tasteless rice. And yes..... More

I had a Spicy seafood udon soup and it was so good I had to come back the next day and have it again. Both times service and quality of food were top marks. Tried some sushi too and it was fresh, delicious and the choice was amazing. Highly recomended

Sakura is one of my favourites in Belfast. The service is always amazing, fast service and the food is always really nice as well. The sushi is always fresh and tasty and I like the sushi train, although sometimes it's better to leave it where it is than running the risk of picking something you'd rather not eat (the last... Decided to go for lunch as it is priced up to 3 pm. Ordered chef special 2 piece sushi. Very disappointed. Two lumps of plain boiled rice without flavouring. One covered by a thin slice of prawn with part of tail still attached. The other covered with small slither of salmon. Wassabe and slither of ginger on side. Most poor.... More
