The BFM went to this wonderful Nepalese restaurant in February this year. The restaurant is Nepalese, so there are some similarities with Indian, but they do have their own dishes, which is what I had. 11 Botanic Avenue, Belfast BT7 1JG, Northern Ireland 028 9024 9264 http://www.kathmandukitchen.co.uk/ I had Lamb Kothe Kmomo (steamed dumpling with lamb, £6.95) followed by the... This is not my first time eating Nepalese but it is my most memorable. The menu is easy to work through with many indian favourites if you dont fancy experimenting with the lesser known Nepalese dishes. I went for a traditional Nepalese dish which was delicious and the portions were good too. I cant temember what it is called but... More

New owners wanted to see how things had changed....promptly shown to a table 8 on a Saturday wasn't overly busy. Good service, good food, great rice, love the low key, traditional elements..... Decent for the money...something for everyone to try.

I don't think Ive had Nepalese food before so this was a bit of an experiment. I had Shikh Kebab then the Himalayan Chicken Curry - very nice, quite mild and pleasant cardamon taste coming through. My wife had the Aloo Kerau Chapat as a starter, which was attractively served in a poppadum bowl - this looked really good. Then... More

Paid £39.50 for a takeaway. When ordered, was assured that all choices were vegan. Collected food (had to wait another 15 mins - total time 45 mins from calling) - got back, started eating and realised that there was a mayonnaise-based product in my order. Really sick of restaurants like this saying they are vegan friendly when, very clearly, they... More

We recently visited Kathmandu Kitchen with a living social deal. The menu has many choices of the usual Indian meals and also Nepalese meals. The food was well spiced and flavoured and the service very good. We were really stuffed as we also ordered the vegetarian platter starter for two which was very tasty. The sizzling kebabs were very good... More

We got in late and most restaurants were closed. This place was open and very helpful when we explained my husbands's gluten free needs, and my inability to handle spicy food. I loved my lamb masala. I did have the naan and enjoyed it.

We would have been regular customers here at least once a week and it seems this place now has new owners. Unfortunately the quality of the food has gone down considerably. I was served up stale poppadums on my last visit 3 weeks ago. The guy serving disappeared after he had taken our order and we could clearly hear him... More
