Non for profit cafe and community hub based in the Holylands area of South Belfast. We serve award winning Fairtrade coffee, hearty lunches, daily soups, stews and curries along with delicious deserts. Cinnamon Scones are renowned locally while our Yumm Bowl and Falafel Burger are hugely popular. We offer many home made and locally sourced products, along with a wide and varied range of vegetarian options. Trading ethical is a cornerstone of what we do, while all our profits are given away to support humanitarian projects in the developing world.

This is my favourite cafe in Belfast I have been a regular customer since I was a student and frequently have meet ups here as I just love the atmosphere. Parking is a pain, but if you go at weekends our outside term time it is easier to get a space. Highly recommend

I went there with friends and we were all disappointed. They did not have all the menus' options the day we were there. The waiters were not super friendly and one came several times asking what we ordered. The sandwiches were not great, mine was lukewarm/cold so not the best when you have grated cheese in it! Good location though.

Hi Emilie, thank you for your review. I'm very sorry your experience wasn't great when you visited us, I can only apologise, hope it hasn't left you with a lasting impression and ask that you'd give us another try sometime. We really do try to make sure everyone enjoys their time in the cafe so I'm very sorry we didn't... More

I love Common Grounds! The staff are friendly and the coffee is excellent! Good food for lunch too. The place has a very mellow vibe and it's great to just sit in with a coffee and a book.

Haven't been here for such a long time, opted for a couple of veggie dishes, the yumm bowl and the bean hot pot.... both were delicious. Decided to have a sweet thing and the chewy oaty caramel thing I got was honestly the tastiest thing I have eaten in a long time, my new favourite treat in the world. Great... More

A hidden gem! Fresh fuss free food at low prices. Quiet and relaxed atmosphere. And it is an ethical business! Lost out on a 5* rating because it doesn't carry skimmed milk which is very basic thing to expect a café to do.

Been going here for years. Always top quality coffee and great food. Relaxed atmosphere and friendly staff. Love their ethos and not for profit generosity too.

I have visited Common Grounds a few times and really enjoyed the cinnamon scones (huge!) and coffee. A relaxing atmosphere and I like the charitable ethos that CG provide. Great idea of the suspended coffee. Well worth a visit.

Great sandwiches and hot meals, wonderful coffee and staff friendly on a level that makes you feel they are personal friends. An easy place to be on your own, read a book or browse with the wifi. Adjacent to Queen's University and Botanic Gardens, it is an area where visitors often find themselves. On Thursday evenings, The Friendship Club meets.... More

I come here regularly for my late lunch, they offer fresh and tasty foods, their coffees are good also, I specially enjoy their guest filter. It is quiet in the afternoon, I can enjoy my coffee and read, which is very enjoyable. Staff here are friendly as well.
