Non for profit cafe and community hub based in the Holylands area of South Belfast. We serve award winning Fairtrade coffee, hearty lunches, daily soups, stews and curries along with delicious deserts. Cinnamon Scones are renowned locally while our Yumm Bowl and Falafel Burger are hugely popular. We offer many home made and locally sourced products, along with a wide and varied range of vegetarian options. Trading ethical is a cornerstone of what we do, while all our profits are given away to support humanitarian projects in the developing world.

Everything is done so well, from hot drinks, food and service. The burrito is amazing, as is the hot chocolate and carrot cake! Well priced too!

Popped into Commongrounds during a weekday evening, it was busy and had a nice atmostphere around it. We just ordered drinks as we where only shortly after dinner but id definatley go back and try their zucchini cake!! Excellent range of tea and coffees available. I had Orange and Coconut tea which was a nice change from the usual green,... More

Every time I visit common grounds I contemplate what to get and more often than not, it is the yum bowl! It is unique and I have never had anything like it - definitely got me coming back time and again. They have a changing menu of soups as well, which are delicious. Shaking it up!

Lovely coffee and food in Common Grounds. Opted for an Americano and veg, feta and almond panini on this visit - very tasty. Have had the yumm bowl and various sandwiches in the past - food has always been really good and fresh. Good veggie options. Very relaxed feel to the place - it's all comfy sofas, rickety wooden tables... More

Title says it all. All the fairtrade products and donations to charity make this place incredible. Plus the staff are so lovely and friendly. One of the top spots in Belfast.

Nice service, good food but a bit expensive for students. Dishes we ordered were tasty but quite spicy. Great location and not far from the Queens quarter.

Nestled away at the side of City Church, in the leafy University area of Belfast, Common Grounds is a good find. It's clean and modern outift staffed with polite friendly folk. The menu has a different feel from most cafes in Belfast. There's a good vegetarian selection, which I although I'm not veggie, which makes a welcome change from the... More

It might seem like an exaggeration, but Common Grounds is genuinely my favourite place to go for coffee in the city - I love the friendly staff, quirky and cosy decor, art displays, yummy food and excellent coffee. The frittata, zucchini cake and peanut butter traybake are all must-tries, and the fresh soups and sandwiches are always excellent. My favourite... More

I love everything about this place! For ages I'd gone but never ventured much beyond a coffee, that was a mistake! The food here is unreal! A perfect lunch spot, good coffee, great vibes about the place, staff are great fun. Great for some space on your own or for a meeting. All non - profit and ethically run as... More

My friend and I have been going here for about three years now. It seldom disappoints. The staff are friendly, and the menu varied. Often there is interesting artwork on the walls for sale. If the weather is good, it's lovely to sit outside in their small but attractive garden.
