My friend and I have been going here for about three years now. It seldom disappoints. The staff are friendly, and the menu varied. Often there is interesting artwork on the walls for sale. If the weather is good, it's lovely to sit outside in their small but attractive garden.

Five of us called in here today on the recommendation of my nephew who is a student at Queen's university. It was very humid outside but cool inside, which was just what we needed. Nice menu choices, cakes looked good (including zucchini cake). We had bagels with cream cheese, chicken and chilli panini, scone and coffees total £20 (delicious and... More

I have never visited common grounds before, so this was my first visit and it was terrible. Upon arrival me and my boyfriend walked in to see around 6 staff just standing around the counter area, so we just took it upon ourself to take a seat, sat there for around 15 minutes, note that the cafe was not busy... Popular, friendly community cafe that serves reasonably priced good quality beverages and snacks. What's not to like!

used to go here every Tuesday night because they had salsa dancing classes in the adjoining church, it's a fun, lively, buzzing cafe in the heart of the Holylands, great place to sit and do some people watching or just to chill with a nice cappucinno.

Hope you're not missing the salsa too much, why not try out Common Threads on a tuesday night instead? It's a sewing group for all skill levels, everyone welcome. More

We totally agree with the review by dancehotsalsa. My wife and I have loved Common Grounds and its food, atmosphere, staff and ethics for many years now. But the menu has become a bit stale. A revamp is definately required. This does not mean chucking out the favourites like potato cakes or the yummy rustic sandwiches though! Lets face it... More

I use to love this cafe and have been going for years, I have to say I'm getting bored with it, and think it needs to update its menu. It's same old thing then a couple of specials when they're available, coffee is good and the whole feel is lovely and relaxing, but come on guys get your fingers out... More

Thanks for taking the time to give some feedback. We've just updated our menu (it was a little bit overdue) and we're really happy with loads of our new options, breads, desserts and coffees. Hope you get down to try them out soon, try the falafel burger and gooey caramel & oat slice, my personal favourites! More

Living locally I've been eating & drinking in Common Grounds for almost a year now but have never got around to writing a review. When I visited today with friends who were in Belfast today I realised just how good it is. The five of us - three adults, a one year old and an eight year old - were... More

I first took my son there after I moved him into his student house just along the street. It was early in the morning and we were both hungry by then so we ordered the full irish breakfast -delicious everything and tomato ketchup as well. The coffee was hot and delicious. There are also paintings on display on the walls.... More
