Met my friend here at 8.30pm. The welcome was warm, the service attentive. The two courses we had were tasty and well presented, although the fish main course was raw and cold first time round, this was replaced, and I ate alone as my friend had finished. The room was too bright and lacked any atmosphere. It got worse, as... More

Visited Bistro Este again last night (Saturday) and had another fantastic meal. On arrival we were immediately greeted and shown to our table. As my wife is currently in a wheel chair we had asked in advance for a table which would be able to accomodate her comfortably, this was all ready on arrival and the staff helped us get... More

A great spot for breakfast with the girls. Delicious and obviously freshly made pancakes with bacon and maple syrup went down a treat with us all. Bacon could be a bit crispier but it was clearly high quality and prepared with care. Lovely friendly staff and a great atmosphere. Coffee is also great and overall a great experience.

First time here this evening. Friendly welcome, polite and courteous staff. Went for the early-bird menu, myself having a beautiful curry and my friend having beer battered fish and chips. Both delicious and well presented, this place has portion-size down to a tee. Followed by citrus meringue and chocolate pot with honeycomb...best desert I've had in a long time. Surrounding... More

Five of us out for a meal last night, all had an excellent meal. The menu is tailored for fish lovers but there is pleanty of choice for meat and veggie options. Nice buzz about the place, which was full, so just as well we had booked. Staff were very cheerie and well informed about the dishes on the menu.... More

I stumbled upon this when it was newly opened and had a lovely evening meal with friends. On the basis of this visit I recommended it as the venu for another night out with another group of friends and was dissappointed not only with the food but the service. We were made very aware that they needed our table again... More

I have eaten here several times and whilst the food is decent enough, I have always left feeling that something isn't quite right. I think the main problem stems from the fact that bistro este tries to be something that it is not, rather than simply be a decent local bistro. Our my recent visit the main courses were good,... Very disappointing meal. Starters were very small and not the standard expected. I ordered oysters which were the size of a tiny mussel and were just breaded and not very tasty. The waitress did take them off the bill. Ordered fish as a main and it was small and over cooked. Overall very poor meal and would not return.
