We are lucky enough to live in Ballyhack which is well known as the best area for restaurants in Belfast, being cheaper than the city centre and providing great variety. So we have tried most of the local places and enjoyed a high standard of fare. But bistro este is by far our favourite for its excellent and varied menu... More

Booked for mid-week evening at 6.30pm. it was meant as a relaxing meal and catch-up with friends. We were greeted by a brusque waitress who twice tried to take our order before all of our party had arrived. Waded through the menu and ordered. Two of the party opted for the vegetarian option. As this, unfortunately, is often the poor... More

Have visited twice this month and have enjoyed the experience on both occasions. Choice of food is great and very different to most bistros in the area.

Bistro Este is holding it's own in the food capital of east Belfast. Great food, great value, great atmosphere and the service was excellent. Competition in the area is fierce but this place is well worth a try.

Went to Bistro Este with two good friends. I arrived first and was promptly seated. Full of good intentions - I decided just to have a main course. Well that was until I saw the menu! In the end all three of us went for the Young Buck blue cheese salad, with pear, caramelised walnuts, orange and chicory (mouth watering... More

I went once before on a Friday Evening and had very good food and friendly service but as the booking was for 8.30 dinner took some time and as they say the craic was good with my party and we were very surprised and shocked to have the atmosphere ruined by the lights switched on full blast. So all lovely... More

This is a lovely restaurant, friendly staff and great food. My friend and both had fish dishes , the ingredients were fresh and the combination of flavours were adventurous and delicious. The BYO adds to the experience and means you can enjoy good food without worrying about the expence. Real value for money.

I would have loved to have started off this review extolling the virtues of the lunch I had last week rather than having to remonstrate with the last reviewer's pettiness. It appears that she was aggrieved with the fact the lambs sweet breads are so small, and because of that she chooses to give the restaurant a 1 star rating... More

My husband and I booked a table last night for our 28th wedding Anniversary. The one positive side of this restaurant is BYO..my husband ordered the lamb sweet breads for starter, I ordered the Korean rolls. We didn't have to wait long until they arrived. We were both shocked when we seen the size of the sweet breads it was... More
