I'm not usually quite so critical. When visiting Belfast recently I took my family for a meal to Berts Whether or not it was just an off night I have to say from entering The Maitre'd Just could even bother to be civil Let alone greet us. The starters mussels were good But thereafter things deteriorated. I order Ribeye Got... More

we visited on Mother's Day and the restaurant had a set menu that day. I had my heart set on something from the Al carte and the chef offered to cook this for me which was extremely accommodating. However when looking at the set menu I saw the pork dish and this really took my fancy. Boy was I glad... More

From the minute you step through the front you can't fail to be impressed with the luxurious decor of this beautiful hotel. Previously a bank, it has kept the original features and blended it with 21st Century. Had lunch and cocktails with a group of friends. Biggest problem was choosing what to eat from their extensive menu. Cocktails galore including... More

Make sur eyou book in advance for this restaurant because it is usually fully booked. Half a restaurant which has the stage for the live band (every night at 9pm) and half a bar which also gets very busy. Food was dleicious and the set menu is great value without compromising on quality!

I recently visited Bert's Bar with a group of ladies as part of my hen weekend. I wanted to do something different and special that wasn't like your usual tacky 'hen' activity. We booked a table for the 8.30pm sitting, which allowed us to keep our seats for the whole evening to enjoy the jazz. The service was perfect and... More

On arrival my friends and I were greeted by staff who attended us to our seats. A lovely gentleman then offered to take our coats. A member of staff then have us our menus. Soon afterward the waitress asked us would we like any drinks. Water was also provided that the waitresses topped for you and never let get empty.... More

This was a fun evening....although the music was a tad too loud for me (I was having interesting conversation) but good nonetheless. The food was excellent, and the service what you would expect from The Merchant Hotel staff.

Delicious Sunday brunch at Berts For only £15 per person you can have a nice selection of mains, bucks fizz or bloody Mary, and tea or coffee - while listening to some live jazz piano. We opted today for the minute steak, pancake stack and the Arnold Bennett omelette - all great but what is going on with the rocket... More

Me and my girlfriend went out for dinner and a few cocktails. Adam, our wait or took care of us very well and certainly knows how the merchant expect nothing but perfection. Our food was such a treat and the cocktails were very nice. Overall this place is defiantly worth a visit, with the live jazz and intimate decor, it... More
