Jazz and food

This was a fun evening....although the music was a tad too loud for me (I was having interesting conversation) but good nonetheless. The food was excellent, and the service what you would expect from The Merchant Hotel staff.

Make sur eyou book in advance for this restaurant because it is usually fully booked. Half a restaurant which has the stage for the live band (every night at 9pm) and half a bar which also gets very busy. Food was dleicious and the set menu is great value without compromising on quality!

I recently visited Bert's Bar with a group of ladies as part of my hen weekend. I wanted to do something different and special that wasn't like your usual tacky 'hen' activity. We booked a table for the 8.30pm sitting, which allowed us to keep our seats for the whole evening to enjoy the jazz. The service was perfect and... More

On arrival my friends and I were greeted by staff who attended us to our seats. A lovely gentleman then offered to take our coats. A member of staff then have us our menus. Soon afterward the waitress asked us would we like any drinks. Water was also provided that the waitresses topped for you and never let get empty.... More

Delicious Sunday brunch at Berts For only £15 per person you can have a nice selection of mains, bucks fizz or bloody Mary, and tea or coffee - while listening to some live jazz piano. We opted today for the minute steak, pancake stack and the Arnold Bennett omelette - all great but what is going on with the rocket... More

Me and my girlfriend went out for dinner and a few cocktails. Adam, our wait or took care of us very well and certainly knows how the merchant expect nothing but perfection. Our food was such a treat and the cocktails were very nice. Overall this place is defiantly worth a visit, with the live jazz and intimate decor, it... More

Enjoyed a couple of hours in this beautifully decorated bar, listening to live jazz, indulging in after dinner drinks, wonderful!! One of lovely bars to go to whilst staying at The Merchant!

Excellent quality of food, however not that hot, if you claim to be the best your standard need to be higher. So no complaints really good meal. Could have been hotter but was still nice. I do think it is over priced £9 for a single shot cocktail £25 £50 for a standard wine costing £8- £15 in a wine... More

We lived in Belfast for some time and came back for a short visit after 5 years. We heard a lot of good things about Berts at the Merchant and it did not disappoint us at all. Service, food and ambiance were excellent. Really nice treat.
