Amazing lunch

In the past, at this time of the year, The Hewitt (and everwhere else) would be empty. Times have changed in this town and when we ate here last week the place was heaving. Love the John Hewitt for a drink and decided at the last minute to book a table of ten for a work lunch. Was absolutely blown away by the quality of the dishes for such a reasonable price, I had a salmon special which was accompanied by greens, pan fried baby potatoes, a piquant salsa and capers. Everything was beautiful,... More

I've been here twice and really enjoyed their lunches having been told that they serve the best chowder ever, It lived up to my expectations and was excellent value for the modest pricing. I will return.

A very central bar in the City. Great atmosphere. A place to meet people. There's a great buzz in this bar.especially over the weekend & nights there are shows in the city. Must visit bar

I cannot comment on the food but i went there several times for drinks, last time being last Saturday and I really love it. There is a nice atmosphere. Very typical Northern Irish pub, with occasional trad' music sessions. I will definitely come back ;)

Really good bar, no TVs no game machines. Music is ver good. Not the most comfortable bar in the world; hard seats and much too crowded on occassions. Beer is priced quite high considering the lack of comfort. Great variety of types of beers and ales. Food is good but toilets could be cleaner. Great pub for visitors to Belfast.... More

Been here many times for a few beers at the start of a night out. Always great atmosphere with mixed crowd, and sometimes a little traditional session happening.

It was late in the afternoon when we arrived and it had a great atmosphere. We chose some select beers to try and we thoroughly enjoyed them. We ordered food and typically for our choice of time 2 choices at been sold out from the menu. We chose differently and although wouldn't have been my choice it was still nice,... More

My wife and I ate here whilst on a four day trip to Belfast and it was the best meal we had on our trip. The food was big portions and good value for money. My wife had the beer battered fish and I have the pork schnitzel which both were excellent. Really nice friendly pub atmosphere and a very... More

This is what we would call a great Irish pub. Good beers & wine, welcoming fire on a cold, wet day and the staff also made us feel welcome. My husband had the soup of the day which was "spot on" for a cold day and I had their onion, potato & smoked cheese tart which was wonderful, my kind... More
