One of the original bars in the Cathedral quarter in Belfast, John Hewitt is one of the more authentic Belfast pubs. A great selection of beers with knowledgeable friendly staff. Food is extremely tasty with a simple but interesting menu. Always an 'interesting; crowd, providing wonderful people watching. A great place to spend a relaxing few hours in a lovely... More

Visited here with my wife and a friend who is a regular to put it generously! Busy enough considering the weather was rotten outside but able to get a table straight away. We both had the hake and our friend had salmon salad. Very reasonably priced and the Guinness was good too but not quite as good as in Dublin... More

A wide range of beers from across the world. Although I didnt eat the food coming out from the kitchen looked appetising. They have complimentary newspapers and a... More

I would like to say a massive thank you to the wonderful staff at John Hewitt for making my Mum's birthday one to remember! The food was simply divine, the staff couldn't do enough for us, and the prices were great. Love that they use local produce, the menu is really something else. Each one of our party of seven... We went for lunch - the fillet of hake was the best hake I've ever tasted. Colleagues had the pasta and the steak ciabatta and they loved them. Very impressed with the outstanding quality. Delicious wine, fantastic atmosphere, will be back - thank you for a lovely lunch!!

Went here with friends who recommended it. You have to wait to be seated as it was busy for lunch. We only had drinks but the food looked and smelt great. Good choice of bottled real ales with a couple of English ales on draught as well. Tried out a beer on tap that day and found out I was... More

Our kids were happy with the menu options as was my wife. We enjoyed a light lunch and a pint and were back on... More
