I have been a regular customer for over a year and would come at 3+ days each week. Because I'm freelance I can work from anywhere and would use this venue as an office base because I can work from anywhere as long as I've got my Computer and Internet access. It's usually a great venue with brilliant and friendly... More

Great place for lunch. Fairly small menu which makes choosing easier. Welcoming and efficient staff. Good selection of beers and reasonably priced wines. Whatever you pick to eat, you won't be disappointed.

Great live music which seems to be every night I go, in a no bull pub that is homely and comfortable. I love this pub and I think it's seriously underrated.

Called in on Sat 1 August 2015 with a couple of friends for a quick bite. Two of us had the daily special - Haddock with chips & tarter sauce and the other - Salmon with chips. The food and service was exceptional for a busy day and could not fault anything. Will certainly be making a return visit soon... More

The band seemed to shrink and grow depending on who showed up with an instrument and at its peak I counted 11 people. They seemed to be just jamming along and a... More

This fine old bar never fails to please. Friendly staff, more than decent food. Pleasant and agreeable place to spend an agreeable hour or two over a couple of pints of the black stuff.
