Cocktail Saturday

We visited this bar/restaurant on a Saturday lunch time. We sat in the bar area, in very comfy sofas and a table to have our cocktails and to order food. I visited Horatios after a recommendation at Stormont and favourable reviews on here and I can only assume we arrived at a bad time. We arrived at 3:45pm towards the end of lunch on a Tuesday and were informed that to eat a meal we would have to be seated in the restaurant. Although quiet, there were customers in the... More

First visit to Horatio Todd's and very impressed. We went with the extended family, 8 in total. All of us took advantage of the £14.95 two courses and a glass of wine wine. It was excellent value. We had a range of meals from the set menu and everyone commented that the food was plentiful and of good quality. Service... More

Horatio Todd's is of course currently a very fine restaurant at Ballyhackamore on the Upper Newtownards Road in East Belfast. Horatio was a well known chemist, and prominent public figure, with premises at 72 Holywood Road which he called 'Trafalgar' after his namesake Lord Horatio Nelson. He died in 1973. The restaurant was built at Ballyhackamore (not far from Horatio... More

We arrived for lunch on Saturday afternoon and were greeted by an extremely friendly waitress, who asked us to choose where we would like to sit. She followed us to the table and gave us our menus. The service was second to none. The food which was delicious as always, was served in a timely manner. The waitress asked us... More

Six of us met up for a few drinks before heading out for dinner. The place was filled with people and good cheer. We managed to acquire a large booth area equipped with two large comfortable leather couches. The surroundings and atmosphere was upbeat and energetic. The wait staff new his menu and was very good at his job. This is a... More

Visited here with a party of 4 hoping for a good night and were instead left regretting the whole experience. Bar crammed with scummy types hell bent on causing as much offence as possible with their noise levels and swearing. Service at the bar was also pitifully bad, staff seemed more interested in talking to each other than actually serving... More

Dear Nick B, I am very sorry that your recent experience went as it did. I can assure you that neither the clientele encountered nor the service received reflect what we deliver on a daily basis to our customers. I have taken your comments seriously and have spoken to our door staff about the standards we expect and also to... More

Visited on Sunday as a last minute idea. Seated by a pleasant waiter who had a fantastic drinks knowledge and very friendly. Starters arrived and were beautiful (squid & goats cheese bruschetta) and same goes for the our main courses (prawn linguine & steak ciabatta sandwich). Sadly the desserts were a let down the profiteroles were very dry and didn't... More

This was our first ever time @ Horatio Todd's. We had received gift tokens from friends and decided to use them on Tues 4 August as this coincided with the Charity Quiz they hold each month. We can't praise the whole package enough! The food was top quality, well presented and very good value for the money. The staff IMHO... More

I have been to Horatio Todd's on many occasions and find the food and atmosphere to be consistently good. It is a regular favourite, were I know exactly what to expect, and get it every time.
