Have been here a few times never dissapointed! Poppadums and dips are a delicious start, recommend the chicken patia for those who dont mind a bit of spice! Peratha bread is amazing. Usually a bit empty which can make the experience not as good, but doesnt make you uncomfortable, service is nothing to complain of.

Had the Sunday special two courses, seems good value, but add a beer, naan and side and it's plenty expensive. The starter chicken was clearly reheated, appeared in about a minute. The biriani was just awful. If you do Rick Steins receipe, he says that the grains of rice should be dry and separate. This was sloppy, dripping in butter.... More

We were recently in the Jharna as part of a large crowd for a birthday celebration. Overall, compared to other Indian restaurants in Belfast, the prices are high and the portions small. I'm particularly fond of Bhuna which should have a rich, thick sauce. What was served to me, however, was totally bland and the lamb was also tough. I... More

We used to go here regularly however after our experience on Saturday night, we will not be back. Husband had booked a table for 8.00 pm on Saturday night. Whilst we were able to order a drink quite quickly, we had eventually to call a waiter to order our food and request poppadoms and dips after a lengthy wait. I... More

The food here was excellent, as always a good vegetarian selection. The staff were friendly and able to advise on meal choice. It was very busy when we were there and so it was slow enough but what is to be expected on a Saturday night. Would recommend and would return

Visited here for lunch today and had one of the most disappointing Indian meals that I have ever had. As my TripAdvisor reviews can testify, I am a fanatic of good Indian food. Sadly, I did not experience having it on my visit to The Jharna. My starter was really nice, I'll give them that, but my chicken Madras was... More

I rarely go anywhere but The Jharna for a chicken jalfrezi (traditional style) and garlic naan. Run, don't walk, to this gorgeous Indian eatery.

I'm a regular patron at the Jharna ,and consider it to be the finest Indian restaurant anywhere. We visited Monday 25th August and were cordially greeted . Following our complimentary poppadoms and dips,we swiftly moved on to our main courses ,my favourite tandoori crayfish with vindaloo sauce, my friend garlic chicken from which came an aroma of tempting spices. Superb!!Complimentary... More

If all my timings worked perfectly I believe I could travel from Wrexham to Belfast in two and a half hours assuming the EasyJet flight from Liverpool was on time. If eating at “The Jharna” was at the end of the flight it would be more than sufficient reward for the journey. Here the food is sublime! Even their claim... More
