Faultless food but a tad pricey

We visited Ginger Bistro for my partner's birthday. The place was packed on a Saturday evening and two large groups meant that the restaurant was rather noisy. I ordered a starter of scallops, pork belly and black pudding. At £9 I was expecting at least three scallops, but there were only two. It... read more

My meal was quite good..nothing special but very edible. Stuck with vegetarian choices for a change..tempura asparagus could have had a crispier batter and the veg thai curry was tasty. As I don't usually eat puddings I asked for a skinny latte to finish my meal and was told only full fat milk was available. I do not like the... More

Had 13 for lunch here on Saturday for my sons 18th birthday. Staff very friendly and accommodating. Nothing too much trouble. Let us order off 3 different menus and swapped and adapted sauces etc. Food was excellent (I know because I did try a wee bit of everything!)and really nice warm atmosphere. Will definitely be back.

Not really knowing where to choose to go for our evening meal - Ginger's was highly recommended, and we were not disappointed. There was a tasty selection of breads (which were very filling) to accompany the olives before we decided on our main meal. Myself and a colleague went for the smoked haddock served on a pea risotto - which... More

4 of us were over from London with work and this place was recommended to us. I had the fish soup and the Thai red vegetable curry and they were both outstanding; as good as, if not better than any street food I've had in Bangkok. Simply wonderful! The staff were really genuinely friendly too. Thank you!

Book to ensure you get in at a weekend, it is worth it. Not an extensive menu but you will find it difficult to choose what to eat as it all sounds so appetising. My wife has a shellfish allergy but the staff were very helpful and prepared the dish she wanted without the 'shrimps' with no fuss and she... More

Knew nothing about this place before stopping in for a Saturday lunch. We were very pleasantly surprised - everything we ordered was outstanding.
