Description: Set in an imposing historic building on Belfast’s central Victoria Street, Malmaison is an ultra contemporary, ultra chic, urban retreat. The team behind Malmaison know that hotels aren’t just a place for sleeping, which is why a lot of thought and bags of style have gone in to the resident Brasserie, a hot spot in its own right. With its modernist feel the dining room has hints of 30s deco in its attractive black and red interior. Curved booths and luxurious upholstery are joined by sleek wood and low lighting while service is friendly yet unobtrusive. Two menus – one the simple brasserie menu, the other home grown and local – celebrate the best of Ireland’s ingredients while offering food which appeals to all palates.

Business visit and dining alone recommended as the best steak in Belfast by the taxi driver from the airport, however my medium rare steak was cold but plate warm, reheated rather than replaced. The chips were Luke warm and soggy but the very wet spinach was OK. Not really a fine dining brasserie as they make out. Looks like somewhere... More

Due to unforeseen circumstances (bust boiler) my wife and I booked into the Malmaison hotel in Belfast until it was repaired. While there we decided to try their brasserie for an evening meal and we were delighted that we had made this decision. The restaurant itself has a lovely atmosphere and the staff could not have been nicer and more... More

My Finacee and myself had the pleasure of having brunch at Malmaison Brasserie Belfast on sunday 16 November. On arrival a lovely girl greeted us and we were seated just beside the small bar area . The brunch consists of serve yourself buffet which has an abundance of salads, salmon, mussels, salami , fresh breads, anchovies, etc and this is... More

Have been to the Merchant for a private Christmas function which was excellent. First time visit here to the Brasserie itself. The meal definitely exceeded expectations. The gentleman serving us was extremely helpful especially with my wife who is coeliac and needs gluten free food. We really enjoyed the three course meal that we had. Certainly no complaints from either... More

We ate here on a Sunday night, it was fairly quiet and the atmosphere toned down from the party vibe of Friday and Saturday but resulted in a nice chilled feel. Food was very good and the waitress (as with all staff at Malmaison) very attentive. We had the chateaubriand which was really good and a perfect portion size for... More

Only enjoyed this restaurant once, haven't managed to get back but I have to say that I was amazed at the food served. The staff were always at hand to serve you and the food was outstanding!!! Can't wait to make another return visit.

Went today for Sunday brunch. The biggest in town they tell us on the menu. Really was surprisingly awful. If you want to waste three long hours of your life and a few quid this is the place for you. First of all the service is painfully slow. 2.5 to 3 hours for three courses. The food is also poor.... More

I came here with family to celebrate my brother in law's 27th birthday (total 7 of us) with Treat ticket vouchers for Sunday lunch & glass of prosecco. Pros - good starter buffet (wide selection, delicious hot smoked salmon, waffles, pancakes) and desserts, nice decor/atmosphere Cons - Main courses were rather disappointing. I went for the roast beef & yorkshire... More
