Description: Set in an imposing historic building on Belfast’s central Victoria Street...
Set in an imposing historic building on Belfast’s central Victoria Street, Malmaison is an ultra contemporary, ultra chic, urban retreat. The team behind Malmaison know that hotels aren’t just a place for sleeping, which is why a lot of thought and bags of style have gone in to the resident Brasserie, a hot spot in its own right. With its modernist feel the dining room has hints of 30s deco in its attractive black and red interior. Curved booths and luxurious upholstery are joined by sleek wood and low lighting while service is friendly yet unobtrusive. Two menus – one the simple brasserie menu, the other home grown and local – celebrate the best of Ireland’s ingredients while offering food which appeals to all palates.

Lovely food

Food was great, staff were attentive and the restaurant takes orders til 10.30pm. All tables were distinct from eachother and restaurant was 'cosy' without being cramped.

This bar and hotel is a lovely classy and alternative hotel. The drinks we had at the bar were wonderful. A pint of Guinness and an old fashioned cocktail which was gorgeous. Fully recommend it

We went to the restaurant last week for a meal offer they were running. Half a lobster and an 8 oz steak with fries and a glass of prosecco. All for £25 per head. The food was all beautiful. We did share a starter and have an extra portion of spinach too. But without the extras there was lots on... More

Was here for a family wedding reception and was very disappointed. The kids starters arrived after the adults all finished their starters, had to ask three times for them. When the main courses came, only one person was left waiting for their meal. My meal was cold, the selection of vegetables and potatoes sent out were under cooked. Dessert was... More

Got a deal for here for a £50 voucher for only £25. Suffice to say it's as well we did. It's a nice enough restaurant with a nautical theme and the staff are very polite and clearly well-trained. The menu was rather lacking and severely overpriced particularly the grill menu. Starters as well are around £9 each which is ridiculous.... More

From arrival to departure the service had just the right balance of friendly and fast. Relaxing meal which was nice but not in the really great category. Perhaps the drinks were a bit expensive and the obligatory 10% service charge seems a bit pushy. Would have been interesting to have felt some of the history of the place. Nevertheless, an... More

We returned for a second visit with a Groupon Voucher. There was a good selection of cold starters, including prawns, salmon, smoked mackerel and salads and delicious breads. We also had a Thai Sweet potato soup which was very flavoursome. The deal also included a glass of chilled Prosecco. We both opted for the Roast Beef Sunday lunch, which included... More

Food great , cocktail even better , no sun glasses is needed in the place as the binds are down , lights are low and everything is painted black , it does work though , but I did consider replacing my dinner jacket for my fluorescent high visibility jacket .the girl I was with liked it so its a hit... Good menu and fast service. Good selection of wines and attentive staff. Food was nicely cooked and consisted of local produce. Would recommend this location to eat.
