Description: Set in an imposing historic building on Belfast’s central Victoria Street...
Set in an imposing historic building on Belfast’s central Victoria Street, Malmaison is an ultra contemporary, ultra chic, urban retreat. The team behind Malmaison know that hotels aren’t just a place for sleeping, which is why a lot of thought and bags of style have gone in to the resident Brasserie, a hot spot in its own right. With its modernist feel the dining room has hints of 30s deco in its attractive black and red interior. Curved booths and luxurious upholstery are joined by sleek wood and low lighting while service is friendly yet unobtrusive. Two menus – one the simple brasserie menu, the other home grown and local – celebrate the best of Ireland’s ingredients while offering food which appeals to all palates.

Food great , cocktail even better , no sun glasses is needed in the place as the binds are down , lights are low and everything is painted black , it does work though , but I did consider replacing my dinner jacket for my fluorescent high visibility jacket .the girl I was with liked it so its a hit... Good menu and fast service. Good selection of wines and attentive staff. Food was nicely cooked and consisted of local produce. Would recommend this location to eat.

I also booked this venue for a Mother's day lunch, but unlike the previous reviewer, I was not remotely impressed!! Yes, it's a boutique hotel with a very modern interior (as long as you like the colour black) but from the moment we walked in, there was zero charm, zero ambience, it had all the atmosphere of a hospital corridor.... Went to this restaurant yesterday for Mother's Day meal with my husband and two girls. We all agreed that the food and service was impeccable and we had a really enjoyable afternoon. The starters had a great variety to choose from and the mains were extremely good. The only fault we could find was the sticky toffee pudding did not... More

I feel ever-so-slightly bad awarding The Malmaison a '3' score, but I do feel it is justified due to some experiences that I endured having. We availed of a Groupon deal, which consisted of two burgers, fries & either a glass of wine or pint of Heineken or Guiness. Arrived and were seated facing the windows in the middle of... More

Booked afternoon tea for a three of us, a girly catch up. The food was fresh, tasty, well presented & plenty of it! The vegetarian option was perfect for one of the girls. Staff were very pleasant & helpful. The venue was very warm & cosy. I would recommend it.

Had lunch here on the Sunday before we left Belfast, Bargain £19.99 for 3 course lunch. Great choice of starter from buffet loads of different meats, breads and salad. Main course of roast beef dinner for me was gorgeous, I don't like my meat pink but they were really obliging and did it well done. Desserts are to die for,... More

My husband and I recently stayed at Malmaison Belfast as a babymoon treat. We had met there 9 years before and so it was a romantic trip down memory lane, timed with the imminent arrival of our second child. I have stayed frequently at Malmaison in pretty much every one of their sites over the years, as I used to... More

We had previously been to the restaurant to sample the Sunday Brunch and were so impressed we treated our son and his girlfriend with a voucher at Christmas to join us. We were suitably impressed again and had the pleasure of Arron looking after us on this occasion..his professional service was just great and so attentive and he done all... More
