Always enjoyable

I have eaten here many times as it is one of our locals. Always good food. Service is better than good....have always found staff polite and even during a busy work christmas party made us feel like they had time for us. Would def recommend. Only reason not five stars is menu can be limited.

Had heard lots of good stories about this place so couldn't wait to get a table and it didn't disappoint! We had tapas for starter (we went for 3) and they were excellent. Then I had pork pasta and my partner had the famous burger. 2 very clean plates flavours were spot on. Then for dessert we went for cocktails.... More

My wife and I had the good fortune of having The Barking Dog recommended to us by the Gregory Guesthouse, around the corner where we'd just booked in. It was a Monday evening, about 2030, and the place was packed with people clearly enjoying themselves. A table was found for us quickly and we settled into a pleasing ambience. Service... More

This is a review after 4 trips to the barking dog. Initially I was impressed by the trendy decor and small plates for starters but the last meal (7th jan) was poor for all diners. We ordered a small number of the 'tapas' including the beef shortrib which is amazing and a pork belly special. At this stage everything was... More

We had a lovely Sunday lunch here. Staff where great and very helpful with my food intolerance. Nothing was too much trouble. Food was delicious. A live musician played guitar giving it a very laid back ambience. A lovely afternoon spent at the Barking Dog.

Love this place. I can walk home which adds to the pleasure! But would highly recommend it to visitors/non locals. It's near Queens University and its a lovely area to walk around. Plus safe at night. It's a fun, slightly hip (do we do hip in Belfast?!) place. Quirky maybe. But great food, good wine list and great service. Had... More

I had heard great things about The Barking Dog, about it's relaxed atmosphere but excellent food. My experience was a little bit different. We had a table booked at 8pm on Sunday 15th February, this was our first Valentine's meal. We had eaten three courses in little over an hour. This just wasn't what I am used to or expect... More

Went out for a date night and chose the right place. Beautiful food, burger filled with pulled pork. Delish, would recommend.

Had a delicious vegaterian gnocchi - it was to die for. Service was great and atmosphere unbeatable, plenty of quirky decor to look at and discuss, and the napkins were fab!
