Great casual dining

Very tasty food. We shared three tapas as a starter including the special black pudding with apple sauce, lovely. I had fish pie, first time I have ever said I would like some more mash. My partner had the gnocci which could have done with a bit more sauce. Staff were friendly and helpful. Good... read more

Visited in Febuary on a Saturday afternoon for my mums 60th. Was running a bit late so called to tell them and they were very friendly! Food was amazing. We shared tapas for starter - could have sat all day with a glass of wine and unlimited tapas!!!! Steak ciabatta with sweet potato fries for main and mum had fish... More

I was looking for a nice Sunday afternoon meal round Belfast and I've found Barking Dog via good reviews online. Booked a table online which was easy, whenever I arrived at 2:45pm, restaurant was very busy, but yet you could feel the "buzz which is good. Got a warm welcome by a lovely waitress, shown our table. Have to say that... More

Been to this restaurant four times. First and second times I was delighted, third I was disappointed however my fourth time at the Barking Dog was a lovely experience. Tasty food and pleasant service. A full vegetarian menu - I had the gnocchi which was really good. My friend had a duck pasta. Desserts were the sticky toffee pudding and... More

My and my girlfriend regularly eat at the barking dog. We have never had anything short of a fantastic evening there! The staff are friendly and everything you want in terms of service! The food is cooked beautifully, and the tapas to start are always a must! We've had many excellent visits here and will have many more in the... More

Dimly lit, intimate, stylish and slick with expertly crafted food. All the better when they can surprise you with little details like delicately smoked cherry tomatoes that turn a good plate of food into a great one. The cocktails are some of the best I've drank. I would award this place 5 stars were it not for the fact that... More

The food in here is lovely but at times a bit too rich - my other half has thrown up twice after eating sauce-heavy dishes, can't be sure of the connection but a big coincidence! The service could be a lot more welcoming and personable given that the mains cost upwards of £13 each. The female bathrooms are great in... More

We walked in last Thursday night around 7.30pm for dinner, and was surprised the restaurant was fully booked. The gentleman who was on the door, kindly suggested a few other places we might dine at, and we made a reservation for Good Friday dinner. Friday night dinner was very tasty. We had 5 tapas dishes for £12 (twice as we... More
