A friend and I had cocktails in here after we had afternoon tea. Lots of choice and great service. Cocktails were nice with plenty of alcohol in them but were pricey. And the service charge that was automatically added on made them quite expensive. The price would be the only thing that makes me hesitant to return but I suppose... More

Really fun place to get a few cocktails before heading out to dinner/drinks. Really nice setting with excellent service and not a strict dress code. Complimentary nibbles (olives, mini poppadoms, pretzels) was a nice treat to have free with drinks. Cocktails are £9.95 so maybe a bit more pricey by local standards (definitely not by Australian standards!) but absolutely worth... More

Fab cocktails , the barman certainly knows how to put them together. A little expensive but wort at least one. The surrounding are specially nice in keeping with the hotel.

My daughter graduated from Ulster University and wanted afternoon tea at the Merchant as an alternative to a meal. It is wonderful and opulent. The architecture is to be admired and the furniture is luxurious. On the Saturday afternoon a band was playing to add even more to the atmosphere. Plenty of sandwiches and cakes as well as champagne and... More

I work in the alcohol industry and one of my coworkers said that I HAD TO visit this bar during my time in Belfast. I am glad I took her advice! This is a story of opulence- the hotel used to be the Ulster Bank and it has been perfectly maintained. There is gold, crystal and beautiful furniture in every... More

What a lovely place. We enjoyed a cup of tea after a rainy day of sightseeing. The service is good the atmosphere fantastic and the building decor is to be admired. Defiantly worth a visit.

I have eaten here numerous times and really enjoyed it. I had lunch with my wife about 2 weeks ago and it was terrible. The fish was soggy and my wife's pasta dish had no flavour. The staff were very pleasant, otherwise I would go given one for rating. It has to maintain standards rather than rely on reputation.

My daughter treated me to cocktails here recently. Lovely bar area and very comfortable seating and surroundings. An extensive cocktail list and any we tried were lovely. Looking forward to returning.
