I work in the alcohol industry and one of my coworkers said that I HAD TO visit this bar during my time in Belfast. I am glad I took her advice! This is a story of opulence- the hotel used to be the Ulster Bank and it has been perfectly maintained. There is gold, crystal and beautiful furniture in every... More

What a lovely place. We enjoyed a cup of tea after a rainy day of sightseeing. The service is good the atmosphere fantastic and the building decor is to be admired. Defiantly worth a visit.

I have eaten here numerous times and really enjoyed it. I had lunch with my wife about 2 weeks ago and it was terrible. The fish was soggy and my wife's pasta dish had no flavour. The staff were very pleasant, otherwise I would go given one for rating. It has to maintain standards rather than rely on reputation.

My daughter treated me to cocktails here recently. Lovely bar area and very comfortable seating and surroundings. An extensive cocktail list and any we tried were lovely. Looking forward to returning.

From entering The Merchant I was made to feel very welcome from all members of staff and even at their busy periods. Their attention to detail makes the overall experience a very enjoyable one. The bar staff are all very experienced in the art of making cocktails and can recommend any to suit your own pallet along with explaining individual... More

Came here with group of friends for cocktails, had table service which was very efficient, cocktail list is extensive and a little expensive but very nice and you could taste the alcohol. The bar itself is lavish. Will return on my next visit to Belfast.

We arrived at the hotel late on Saturday night. We were admitted to Bert's bar, wow what a place. Then made our way to the cocktail bar. What a grand place and what great cocktails. Slightly pricy but totally worth in for the environment. Will defo return and try champagne bar next time.:-)

I had time to kill one lunch time and went in to try some cocktails. I was met by a violin and piano playing along with a plate of olives and other things to nibble on. Honestly great service which would be expected. The drinks matched the quality and elegance of the place. The cocktail menu is amazing, take time... More
