A great night out in a grand old town!

I spent an evening in Bennetts Bistro last weekend and came away delighted. To start with, the place looks terrific: excellent kerb appeal! Nice ambience and a good buzz going in the restaurant when we arrived just after nine. As later arrivals, we skipped starters and went straight to mains. I ate from the specials menu - duck with potato... More

Called in on Paddy's Day after finishing The Craic 10k so I was ready for a good breakfast. I wasn't disappointed. Massive Ulster Fry for both my wife and I, the youngest got a good sized bowl of porridge and our other daughter, with a sweet tooth, got tucked into a massive blueberry & white chocolate scone. A good fry,... More

This is without doubt one of the best places in Belfast for brunch. We go here regularly and are never disappointed. Try the portobello mushrooms, tomatoes and poached eggs - divine! French toast is also excellent - made with lovely thick crusty bread. Service is always superb. Have tried lunch and dinner in here also just not as good as... More

It would be unfair to give Bennett's just three stars, it's better than that, but it bordered on very good. It's comfortable and welcoming, very nicely decorated, light, very unfussy, with some great original posters and is immediately comfortable rather than luxurious, and welcoming. The menu is wide-ranging, with a blackboard of specials. I had haddock with mixed vegetables and... More

Had a great lunch here at the weekend, all day dining at the weekend is just great. The menu is really varied and creative - clearly a very competent kitchen, judging by the presentation and quality of the dishes we enjoyed and spied going to the other tables. I had the fish special whilst my dining companion had the mother... More

I absolutely love this place as does an army of regular clientele. Whether I call in for a coffee and a home-made bun, or for a full slap-up meal, I am confident of first-class food, a warm welcome with attentive, but not cloying service. The place has a lovely Bohemian feel to it and the good value full menu (breakfast,... More

We had dinner here before attending The Elvis Spectacular at the Strand cinema. The service was good without being obtrusive. We had mains ( fish and chips, belly of pork, veggie burger and beef burger. ) All were great , generous portions and home made chips. Only one diner had room for dessert (sticky toffee pudding) which looked and smelled... More

Service wasnt great. The girl took our order and the food a arrived about 35-40 mins later. Food was very dissapointing, lump of pork belly and a splodge of what can only be described as Smash with some tastless crispy onions. £10.50. My partner had a plain chicken breast covered in what I think was pesto ,two portobello mushrooms and... More

Called in here last week on way home from an early Belfast appointment!! Was just before lunch so we were still able to order breakfast. Large, very nicely decorated restaurant, attentive staff without being overly intrusive!! My Dad had the Fry, which came with great big thick butchers sausages, which just made his day!! I had the Scrambled Egg, Toast... More
