Good food, good atmosphere (but noisy would not suit everybody)

Went as a party of 3couples, all starters and meals were excellent but you have to remember that if you want something (bread veg etc) you have to specifically order it and then pay for it. Heard people on adjacent tables complaining that they did not have any veg and another that they wanted... read more

I had heard some great reviews about the Bras, but I was disappointed. There are no menus, thus meaning you have to walk up to the till and order yourself! For a 'fine dining' restaurant with quite expensive prices, I was expecting to be served at the table. There was quite a wait for our mains, and as we didn't... More

Wonderful restaurant with excellent value two course lunch! Went for a friends hen do, and it was fantastic. we printed off vouchers for wine before going, and the staff couldn't have been more helpful. The chips are quite something My steak was a little over cooked, but other than that, the food was fantastic. A little confusing maybe with regards... More

The food was very good, a bit expensive and the staff could work on their service a bit but all in all good.

we went for an anniversary meal. we were shown to a table , and then had to ask te waitress where the menus were. she explained the process of ordering, and it was all very confusing. there are no sauces or dressings or any indication of other flavours other than the meat or fish. The spare ribs for starters were... More

We go there regularly. The food is really good, generous portion sizes and fresh. I can't resist the monkfish to start, and honeyed duck as main course. Always "real" chips too. The garlic bread is very nice too. Only downside is they don't serve beer, cider etc. - only wine.

Had an excellent meal. The ordering process is a bit quirky but it seems to work. The wine list is superb. Service was very pleasant and the bill was quite high but I felt it was worth it

Firstly, the restaurant operates a daft system which requires diners to go to the counter to place their order. This is particularly annoying given that the place is hugely overstaffed so waiters mill about with nothing to do while diners queue up to order. Secondly, the vegetarian options are really poor. Bizarrely a choice of chips or jacket potato (or... More

Bland food and disgustingly large portions. Dimly lit and the service was less than attentive. The wrong wine was put on the receipt, I wouldn't have minded but it was at least ten pounds more expensive.

Would recommend this restaurant for the quaity and freshness of the food but warn people visiting for the 1st time there are no table menus you have to go up to the bar/counter where all fresh fish/meat is on display and menus are displayed behind, with your table number and order from there.
