The Bell is a wonderful, characterful pub in a secluded area of Caerleon known as Ultra Pontem ("Beyond the bridge", if my Latin serves me). There is an excellent selection of beers and ciders available, many locally produced, along with a superb menu featuring fresh local produce prominently. Staff are friendly and attentive. It's quite busy at weekends - they... More

When we arrived on Saturday 28th June we were handed dog eared scruffy sheets of paper with the menu on it, as well as other customers' gravy stains and marks......... There were 4 of us and one chair has a really wobbly leg, which had to be swapped but there was no-one around to help, so we did it ourselves.... More

Has been while since we have eaten here, often pop in for a drink on the way to another (very good) restaurant in Caerleon, and that was exactly what we were doing yesterday. But while hang a drink at the bar we had a look at the menu and decided to give it a go. We made the right decision.... More

I've visited the restaurant several times over the last few months,I thought its about time I got on trip advisor to make a review. The food and service is always excellent and I highly recommend trying the Scotch egg or black pudding terrine. The selection of ciders are great and the wine selection even better. It was great to go... More

Both of us has the two course lunch which was great value. The calamari was soft and tender whilst my chicken Cesar salad was filling and if anything to big. Overall very happy and a good choice for a lunch visit

Our party of. fourteen visited The Bell and chose from their two-course menu. An excellent selection of starters but a more limited selection of main course Really enjoyable experience

Been here a couple of times and food can be a bit variable but is more often good. Quite a dark place with uneven floors but then it is an old building and it adds atmosphere. Service was good. Place is always busy so seating other than at the tables can be problematic.

Ate at the Bell for the first time yesterday. We ate from the lunch menu which was excellent value for money, 2 courses for less than £11. The food was presented beautifully and tasted fantastic. It's not your average pub grub, which I was really pleased about! Will defiantly be returning again with friends.
