WARNING - not the same place that won best foodie pub (many many years ago) Went there as a part of a business meal, the starters came out about 50 minutes after ordering, they were barely luke warm, waited another 45 minutes for mains and they were awful! Prawn linguine was stodgy and had clearly had the look of microwaved... More

Had a three course Christmas lunch and it was excellent. Ham hock terrine to start, turkey with loads of gravy and extra gravy then cheese board to finish. Very happy! The staff were always making sure we were serviced with drinks and very attentive. All courses came out as ordered in good time. We were a party of 10 and... More

Pre ordered Christmas set lunch 2 or 3 courses with special dieatry requirements ordered in advance, which was lost replacement given. Unfortunatley there was a kitchen fire on arrival asked to wait til 12 with half hour wait!!!!!!!! eventually starters arrived wrong orders!! Soup not exactly hot and tasteless! Main courses were wrong, the meat was covered in gravy with... More

Hugely disappointing - poor service, poor food, no atmosphere and expensive. Long wait even though pre ordered our meals. This was an office Christmas meal. We had to light our own candles on our tables, ask for condiments, prompt about the lack of stuffing and 'pigs in blankets' to go with the Turkey as on the menu. 35-40 minute wait... More

Following a visit to The Bell for our Christmas Lunch today,(party of 13), I feel I had to leave a comment to warn others who might be venturing out for their office Christmas Lunch. We had heard many comments of what a great place it was to eat! However we were bitterly disappointed by what we found, table wasn't laid... More

Came here for lunch yesterday as an 18th birthday treat. I had wanted to visit for a while after hearing good things and wasn't disappointed. Had a huge hang over from the night before and the burger made me feel 100 times better! A miracle in a bun haha. In all seriousness the food here is great - had a... More

9 of us visited the Bell on the 9th November for Sunday Lunch - our group was aged 4 to 68! After reading certain reviews we were a little concerned.....but we had nothing to worry about. The Bell has a warm and rustic appearance/atmosphere The food was very good, and the service was brilliant. The waitresses could not do enough... More

I have visited the bell on several occasions and always had a lovely experience. But the visit this week was a far cry from the previous times. We went to the bell on a Tuesday night to celebrate a friends birthday. Only 2 other tables were full in the restaurant so we didn't think there'd be too much of a... More

Went to the Bell for the first time in a couple of years - and what a surprise. I can honestly say it was the best Sunday Lunch I've had! Praise indeed from someone who is not only VERY fussy, but not even a great fan of roast dinners apart from my own. Staff are all extremely helpful, efficient and... More
