Friendly staff and lovely food. Restaurant small and intimate. Would definitely return if I lived closer.

My partner and myself turned up for Sunday lunch and as we had not booked we weren't hopeful of getting a table...We asked and was told that we could be seated at 3 pm...(we arrived at 1.45) Happy with this we sat at the bar and had drinks...We were then told at 2.20pm that we couldn't eat after all...Although they... I had previously enjoyed an evening meal and a lunch meal in the restaurant. On both occasions I was impressed with the premises, food and staff. On Friday 23rd January 2015 my partner and I again visited with two of our friends only to be very disappointed. We arrived to be told that our table was not ready as one... More

Lovely character pub in the middle of Caerleon. We visited this place just before Christmas. We waited a long time for the food but atmosphere was nice and the waiting staff attentive. The food was average at best but given we had booked at short notice and the restaurant was busy given the time of year (waiting almost an hour... More

I went here due to a friend's recommendation and I was pleasantly surprised. I chose the Ham Hock Terrine and Faggots, Peas and Mash for the two course lunch deal. Both courses were plentiful and cooked to perfection. The staff were warm, welcoming and attended to our every needs and as a result, I really enjoyed my time here. Would... More

We came for a special birthday lunch spoilt by very poor service by the kitchen. One third of the starters didn't arrive, one third were too cold, and we had waited overall an hour by then. The main courses were also an epic wait. The waiting staff were friendly but no explanations given and we couldn't face another wait for... More

We were at the end of the Christmas Day bookings so expected some delay and unfortunately there was significantly for the first 3 courses.... HOWEVER...the staff were friendly, apologetic, compensated us for the delay. We had a variety of choices from the menu and enjoyed all of them, together with the parsnip and apple soup and raspberry sorbet. Friendly warm... More

Warm and friendly atmosphere with staff that couldn't do enough for us and made our meal and stay most enjoyable. Food was excellent and the range of drinks was very comprehensive. Even the locals were very warm and friendly to us. Suggest you give this venue a try.

Had Christmas lunch with hubby and daughter and it was Fab-u-lous. Everything about the lunch was perfect and I cannot fauly a thing quite honestly. Food was well cooked and presented and the staff were very attentive. Would definitely go back and use our 25% off vouchers for Jan and Feb. Thankyou to The Bell for starting our Xmas off... More

WARNING - not the same place that won best foodie pub (many many years ago) Went there as a part of a business meal, the starters came out about 50 minutes after ordering, they were barely luke warm, waited another 45 minutes for mains and they were awful! Prawn linguine was stodgy and had clearly had the look of microwaved... More
