Not my first time

Great food. This isn't my first visit to The Bell and won't be my last. I had cockles to start which were amazing. I usually go for the Scotch Egg which is also great. Top Pub 👍

Visited 26/08/15 for our son's birthday. He had been there before and raved about it. However, we were very disappointed. Several of the items on the limited menu were unavailable after we had ordered them. I felt the menu was quite pretentious in it's descriptions of the food, which did not live up to expectations. No plans to recommend or... More

Spent a day in Caerleon visiting Roman baths etc. Walled to the Bell, as it had been recommended, found drinks very expensive, calamaris starter for lunch was tiny, half a dozen this rings, a small portion of sauce and a tiny lettuce leaf for garnish. Certainly not what is expected from a pub listed in the Good Food Guide. Very... More

Delicious dinner of salmon on a bed of samphire - so yummy I had the same thing both nights we went. The staff were especially attentive and friendly. Altogether a super place to eat.

Was I feeling off or is this restaurant looking a tad dowdy for a gastro pub. With ripped cushion covers and a general need of a spruce up because whilst good there are reservations. We had service that was friendly but a bit of who is doing what from the serving staff. Starters were very good mine a sardine fillets, very... More

We came here for Sunday lunch with a large party including 3 children. The pub was quiet when we arrived but quickly filled up and there was a lively atmosphere. The service was excellent, the staff were very friendly, and especially welcoming to the children, and also accomodating of changes to the menu that we requested. One of the meals... More
