The food here is really good, the service however is very poor. We booked a specific table in the corner (celebration) and gave them plenty of notice but on arrival we were shown to the table in the middle. The high chair provided still had left over chunks of food on the seat and the tray had not been wiped... More

We used the Bell as a half way stop on route to the Gower, and what a find it was!! The food was very good, and the service matched it with a warm welcome from all the staff and even a treat for our dog (who was made very welcome). We enjoyed it so much we stopped again on the... More

This lovely gastro pub was truly amazing, professional from the time I reserved our table to the time we left. Our food was fresh and incredibly tasty and what made it even better was the level of customer service we received, we were certainly made to feel special even when it got busy. We have never had a bad evening at the bell. It's cosy and always vibrant because of this. The food is standard fair but made well and worth the money. The staff are friendly and always willing to help. A great spot if you are looking in Newport.

As well as being an excellent restaurant, the Bell Inn supports cultural events in Caerleon, and if the Cider and Real Ale festival at the Bell Inn over the May Day bank holiday weekend is anything to go by we have a great summer of entertainment and fun to look forward to. With an eclectic range of ciders, perries and... More

We went here for a pre-wedding dinner. I was not expecting much but it was really very good. Basically a country pub, but the food was much better than that. I have scallops as a starter (excellent) and sea food pasta as a main. Service excellent and very friendly. Close to Newport and Cardiff. A very pleasant surprise and I... More

Great wine list, lovely bottle of wine served cold with ice bucket handy. Hubby had beer served in correct glass. Menu was interesting and inspirational. Waiter and waitress knowledgeably and polite. Excellent food and all four of us really enjoyed ourselves. Great night had by all, excellent, can't wait to return. Well done team at The Bell.

Myself and a visiting friend had an evening meal in The Bell on Friday 17th April. I like to go to The Bell to eat and go for a drink whenever I can and my visiting friend likes The Bell too. It was an opportunistic visit which the waiting staff accomodated us without fuss and we ordered promptly. The menu... More
