We stayed at the pub/bunkhouse for a 2 nights in a group of 8 of us. After reading reviews on here I wasnt too sure what to expect (not a lot!) but it turned out to be a great place to stay! The rooms were spotless along with the showers also. The bunkbeds were really comfy (which makes a change!)... More

Stayed overnight in the bunk room of the pub on a 3 day cycling trip through Wales. The T-Bone steak was perfection. From local cows it was cook perfectly.

My friends and I fancied a walking trip in the Brecons for a couple of days, staying the first night in the Butchers, camping the second night and then returning to the Butchers for our last night. First impressions were good, the price seemed reasonable and the room was what we had expected for the money. We had been told... More

We had booked our stay at the "Butchers Arms" as it appeared to be a friendly and well priced establishment, however we were to be disappointed. The welcome we received was frosty at best, the rooms and washroom was basic as expected although with just 1 shower/loo between 10 there was a definite scramble in the mornings, that said rising... This pub is set in a quiet village of Pontsticill within the Brecon Beacons National Park and near to the lovely Pontsticill reservoir, superb views across the valley which includes in summer watching the mountain railway pass by. We visited with friends for a birthday celebration meal, the pub has a lovely atmosphere and all are made welcome, open fire... More

Food was home cooked and well priced for a small pub. Local drinks were good and although a delay for the food it was a nice atmosphere to wait. Didn't have the side dish we ordered but the mains were large enough that we were glad they had run out!!!
