The food in this place is amazing, it's just a shame that the waiters and waitresses seemed unable to cope with taking drinks' orders at the table. We had to ask three separate times (twice to the same person) to order drinks. The service for the food wasn't particularly bad, it was simply the lack of care the staff showed... More

Brilliant choices with a good selection of fish dishes and steaks. Deserts very good also. Good service all round and a lovely atmosphere as well.

This is a popular place. I tried to book for Sunday lunch a week ahead last year and failed. Better luck in 2015. The menu proudly includes a list of local suppliers to the restaurant and it is the produce which is the star at the restaurant. The four scallops (£10) that one of us had for a starter were... Visited today for Sunday lunch, bit amusing parking but squeezed in :-) seated straight away even though we were an hour early. Staff were all very friendly. We ordered beef, lamb, pork & a chicken (like to try it all!) all the meat was cooked perfectly, served with fresh vegetables and plenty of gravy to top up. Had a range... More

I came here twice in 3 months for lunch. Both food and service were excellent. It is a good option if you dont want to go into cardiff to eat. Great views across the valley and local fresh food. Faggots are outstanding as is the fish and chips. For afters, has to be the sherry trifle. Hard to come by... More

Visited for lunch, had a perfectly cooked fillet steak, my fiancé had an equally good fillet beef stroganoff. We are both very fussy about meat but both dishes were faultless, an absolute credit to the chef. Excellent range of craft beers and ciders and the service was impeccable. Very nice cosy bar with an open fire and relaxed atmosphere. Look... More

A small cosy pub with a lovely view. Local pub with lovely food and really friendly staff! Open fire, nice and cosy and dogs are welcome!

Four of us visited this restaurant just before Christmas. The atmosphere was warm happy and welcoming. Drinks downstairs in front of a roaring fire then upstairs for our meal. Very comfortable seating with plenty of room between the tables. Two of us had scallops to start, delicious, and fish and chips with mushy peas. Huge piece of fish which was... More

We come here usually for special occasions and have never been dissapointed. Food is always brilliant and freshly cooked including the chips (none the lazy and tasteless rubbish here!) What ever you order, I very much doubt that what you get, it won't be something you'll dislike. The staff here are always friendly and the owner always goes out of... More

without exception that staff are friendly. The food quality is well above what you would expect from a pub, but without the formality of an up-market restaurant. A good choice of fish. The only down side is the restricted parking, but then if it was easier then the place would be too popular, and might be spoilt as a result.... More
