Tasty Belated Birthday!

We had a table for 6 and a later sitting but the meals were served promptly and as always did not fail to reach their perfect standard. Staff were extremely polite and helpful! So another successful Birthday Night out at The Gwaelod Inn for me and my family!

visited the inn on Saturday night, having pre booked , as they do get busy. this was my first visit to the pub , based on trip advisor reviews. what an amazing place. the atmosphere is great, an old meets new pub with bags of character. a bustling downstairs when we arrived at 7pm , with tables to eat and... Welcome fine, food absolutely delicious, service fine, prices, for the quality, fine. Why so many people grumble about this place I really don't know. Went there today with my little sis for my birthday this lunchtime; Met the owner, and guess what? She's not vile, or a dragon or nasty...... I personally don't like being fawned over or fussed over... More

Lovely pub with its own micro brewery. Went out for mid week meal. All range of food on the menu giving option of affordable mid week meal or special occasion meals. Highly enjoyable evening. Can't fault.

The Garth consistently lives up to its high reputation. The food, drink and staff are excellent here and totally worth a visit. We had a table of 10 and the service was amazing. Fair play to them, they deserve every once of recognition they can get for being one of the best places to eat in South Wales.

I came here for Sunday lunch with friends last week and would highly recommend it. We struggled trying to find somewhere in the local area that wasn't already fully booked and struck gold here. The staff were friendly, the food was excellent and the prices were reasonable. I had a main and a beer, my 2 friends had similar and... More

Very traditional Welsh inn, with plenty of character, We sat downstairs by a log fire eating fresh bread. All our meals were very tasty and the lemon cheese cake was very yummy. There is a restaurant upstairs which is also very nice and has a bigger choice on the menu.

Hugely disappointed with our visit. Having heard great things about the place I was expecting something really special but have to say the food was a real let down. My £20 main was a little overcooked and rather plain tasting and my fish soup starter was different to what was advertised on the menu plus it was gritty. When I... More

If you are looking for tasty food in a friendly setting this place takes some beating. We have eaten here several times and this last visit over the Christmas period was as enjoyable as the previous times. The food is not too fancy or complex but what you get are simple bar/bistro dishes well cooked with generous portions. The staff... More
