Lovely food but plates were rushed away and we wanted to enjoy our food and chat, one course in, out then next etc If you are in a rush great but we were hoping to enjoy our evening out

A lovely country pub! Visited on a Sunday afternoon with a group of friends. A great choice on the menu containing good-old-fashioned pub favourites as well as Sunday roasts, which seemed very popular. Our party tried a mixture of both, with some opting for beef and pork dinners, others fish pie and lasagne. We all thoroughly enjoyed our meals and... More

We ate here on the night of my son's graduation. Food was excellent; salt marsh lamb soft and tender. Beer (Wye Valley) superb and waiting staff really friendly and helpful. Excellent place - would recommend to anybody.

Eat here regularly and have never been disappointed. The choice of decent real ales really does round it off. Very busy so prior booking is advised. Try the plaice. Huge and very tasty!

We are very lucky to call ourselves regulars to this amazing inn. There is an extensive array of real ales, ciders and wine. The staff are friendly, dogs are welcome in the bar area and locals make it even more welcoming. In the winter, the log fires are lit and it is hard to pull yourself away once settled. Meals... We have been eating here for years because the food is superb and there is always something new and delicious on the menu. Make sure you know which of the deserts is homemade before you order!

Never had a bad meal at the Gwaelod, always made to feel welcome but you will need to book in advance. Usually Around 7 real ales on tap and is slightly more expensive than your average pub for food. However you get what you pay for and this pub is always our favourite if we are having a special treat.

Came here with about 15 family members in February, food is good but it seems a little bit over priced for what it is, and basically, is a pub.

Visited on Friday the 3rd to celebrate a family birthday. Having read all the excellent reviews we thought we would go and give it a try. Barbara was lovely on the phone when we booked a table in the day, so refreshing to hear such a pleasant voice and attitude unlike some places. From the moment we entered to the... More
