Lovely experience

Went here for a lunch with work colleagues and it was really lovely. Pretty setting, friendly staff and excellent food. The cream tea and selection of snadwiches and cakes is fantastic and I can recommend the soup of the day (leek and potato). Mismatched cups and saucers are quirky and add to the... read more

Visited with friends for a late birthday treat. They can do gluten free cream tea and dairy free cream tea and you won't miss out massively if you choose one of these. A huge pot of tea was served followed by finger sandwiches - I chose beef and horseradish and egg mayonaise. This came with a gluten free fruit scone... More

I visited the tea rooms for lunch on a Wednesday. As it was a beautifully sunny day, we sat outside. We were quickly attended to by a very helpful waitress. I ordered the beef and horseradish sandwich and my friend had the soup of the day which was tomato. The sandwich had a good amount of filling and was accompanied... More

We popped in part way through our visit to the castle. Inside was full but as it was a lovely day the very helpful staff put up an extra table outside for us. We has ploughmans which was really tasty although we could have done with a bit more cheese! Great service and a lovely place to sit out and... More

I pre-booked afternoon tea at Pettigrew Tea Room as a Mother's Day gift for my Mum. The tea was amazing - we asked for a 2nd pot! And I LOVED the crockery, it reminded me of my great grandmother's house years ago! As quite a fussy eater, it was lovely to be able to choose which sandwiches we wanted (you... More

Went for afternoon tea and it was such good choice, well presented, tasted scrummy and so much. If you can't eat it all they will even pack it up for you to take home. Customers are made very welcome and atmosphere is wonderful. Will go there again and take others as it is well worth it.

Despite being a regular visitor to Cardiff I did not know about this gem of a tearoom in the heart of the city centre. I received a gift voucher as a birthday present for afternoon tea for 2 at the tearoom and was very much surprised at the wonderful place hiding in full view. It was a wonderful experience with...
