Took mum just after Christmas and had wonderful food, great recommendations, superb tea and fantastic service from passionate staff. Also bought lots of cake as take out for the remainder of the family which was demolished the moment it was served. Recommended whole heartedly.

I went here before Christmas in a party of four for the Christmas afternoon tea. The attention to detail was amazing, with staff making sure we had diary fee options for one of the party. The scones, sandwiches and cakes were all lovely, we had so much we could barely move afterwards. This is the type of place to go... More

Waw - the afternoon tea here was lovely. We caught the bendy bus into town from Cardiff Bay, where our great hostel was - The Urdd City Sleepover.

I am a returning customer here and find the atmosphere very pleasant. The salads are well presented and you must try the scones with clotted cream. Staff are always kind and hold a genuine conversation with us, see you again soon

We have just had a return visit to the wonderful Pettigrew Tea Rooms. Unfortunately this place is now so popular that you either have to reserve a table or be prepared to wait. We waited in the gift shop and were soon seated in the cosy and quaint tea rooms where we were well served and enjoyed a lovely Welsh... More

We have visited her a few times and always sat outside, sometimes because there were no free tables inside. Pettigrews is expensive but sanwiches are very good qauliaty, and the cakes excellent. Real tea is served in a tea pot with tea strainer and china cups and suacers and the whole experience is good. My only gripe is that when... More

The staff are very welcoming and the food is made on the premises and very satisfying and tasty. The cake are excellent. Taking tea at Pettigrews is definitely an Occasion. The only drawback is that one usually has to wait for a table. But it is worth waiting for this experience.

I had your basic cream tea and a red berry infusion but it was far from basic. Homemade scones, jam, propper cream. Delicious! Best part? The scones were still warm...A really lovely place.

Housed in the former West Lodge of Cardiff's Bute Park, and replete with 125 year old Victorain floor tiles, Pettigrew Tea Rooms is a wonderful location for a traditional afternoon tea in the old style, as well as 'light bites', meals and cream teas (both the traditional and Welsh varieties). If the weather favours you you can take your selection... More
