Delicious home made cakes (blood orange, rhubarb and almond gluten free was my choice), excellent tea and coffee, great friendly service and in a perfect position on the edge of Bute Park near Cardiff Castle. It was so good we went back the following day for lunch - sandwiches and smoked mackerel pate. Definitely worth a visit.

I took my mum and brother for a lovely afternoon tea. Not surprisingly on a nice Sunday afternoon which happens to also be Mothering Sunday booking was essential and I was s bit late organising we had to go at 4 pm. However the tea was lovely. Staff very nice. Eclectic mix of China provided talking points. Sandwiches scones and... More

This little tea house was in a perfect location at the corner of Bute park, with a view of the castle. Had some tea and cakes that were absolutely fantastic. The only down side was that, even with the outdoor seating set up, there was almost no where to sit. My friends and I were placed at a table and... More

This is such a quaint setting in the castle walls and the place has been decorated in pretty, quirky vintage style. Lovely home-made cakes and soups - they are making quite a name for afternoon teas and you often need to book. Tripadvisor should do separate categories though, as this cannot be compared to a restaurant as such. It is... More

When travelling to Britain there are two places I have to visit: a good pub and a cosy tea room. The Pettigrew is an excellent example of how a tea room should look like and the food they serve (sandwiches and cakes) lives up to their reputation. There isn't much to add: after visiting the castle you walk a few... More

Just popped over by chance. We were very lucky to get the table outside it is ever so popular. We had afternoon tea. Fantastic value for money £27 between two of us with warm scones, super soft sandwiches and mind blowing homemade cakes! Carrot cake was so good I finished it in seconds. Very nice staff too. It is a... More
