Looked for something a bit special and different from the normal tea rooms. So decided to go to the Pettigrew tea rooms for afternoon tea with my wife. Arrived late afternoon and found a table outside as the sun was shining. We both ordered 2 pots of tea and 2 slices of cake. The service was quite good until the... More

I can't thank you for casually swearing on our Tripadvisor page or making offensive comments about how hard our team works, even when they are resolving your complaint. We sell just shy of 20 types of wonderful tea catering for all tastes and the Assam is a great strong 'traditional' tea as detailed on our menu. You pointed out good... More

Arrived on spec and had to be seated outside as it's quite small. However it was a nice day and this was not a problem. I expected it to be well inside the park but it is literally right at the entrance. They were busy but I think the server got confused and left us for quite a while until... More

We stopped off at the pettigrew tea rooms during a family bike ride. It was Cardiff half marathon day so very busy but we managed to get a table and laid up our bikes by the side. Choice of food was excellent with a range of cold sandwiches, toasties, soup and of course the lovely cakes. We went for soup... More

This small but perfectly formed little gate house is the perfect gathering place to celebrate a special occasion. This time a party of four for afternoon tea to mark a retirement. I appreciate the facility to make a reservation IF you are having the afternoon tea as its continuing & deserved popularity makes the potential for just pitching up &... More

What a great place to have breakfast. Near to Cardiff Castle, but in the park so nice and peaceful. Luckily the weather was warm so we were able to eat outdoors on the terrace. Staff were friendly and the food was lovely. If you've never tried lavabread give it a go.

A welcome stop if you are walking the park and need beverages and a toilet. The gift shop is nice and has a booklet called the Family Tree Trail which identifies 14 of the Champion Trees in Bute Park. This tea room is right next the castle and by the boat landing for cruises to the Bay walk.

Booked for afternoon tea and sat inside lovely small tea rooms. Lots of tables outside. Real tea out of china cups was a nice start. Gluten free scones were the best ever tasted, made by the manageress. Welsh tea which consisted of large slice of Bara brith loaf and fruit scones, clotted cream and Caerphilly strawberry jam was delicious. No... More

We love walking in the castle grounds and always seem to reach these tea rooms at the right time for coffee.( Is my husband more cunning than I thought?) Made on the premises, the cakes are gorgeous, the coffee freshly brewed and the music carefully selected to match the thirties interiors. It's a step back into the not-so-distant past when... More

Have to admit that I didn't know there was such a thing as a Welsh cream tea but when I saw it on the menu I had to try it. Absolutely divine. Lovely setting just away from the hustle and bustle of town. Definitely going again.
