Afternoon tea any time of day

On the list of must see for Cardiff so expected it to be very commercial but it wasn't. 'Afternoon' tea served all day unlike many others which only do so in the afternoon. Can choose any sandwich fillings and of the different and interesting flavours of cake. Plus of course scones. Mix and match... read more

Has a retro feel, but appropriate to the superb location, and not laboured. Tea is proper leaf tea, a real treat and in lovely cups. Extra hot water would have been nice, though. Cakes are really exceptional - moist and with subtle but beautiful bursts of flavour. Great soups, fresh and full of nourishment. Staff lovely and very helpful. One... More

Good place to stop for tea and coffee. Visited with friends from abroad and allowed us to showcase some welsh heritage also. Fun for all ages to visit as ferrets running around wild in area so adults can chat while kids have something to watch too.

I'm sure that there are many, many places to have afternoon in UK and I only visited a few, but this was the best I had. Though we found Cardiff less beautiful and more dirty than other cities, we did find a respite near Bute Parc for tea, scones and traditional Welsh Bara Brith (a not too sweet or dense... More

My wife and I had the set afternoon tea which consisted of sandwiches, scones, cake and of course a wide selection of tea. The food was fresh and obviously hand made. I looked at other items being served and it all looked wonderful. The staff were polite, efficient and knowledgeable and nothing was too much trouble. This is a very... More

Called her for some refreshments when our daughter did the Race for Life. Had a couple of latte's and some granary toast. Everything is locally sourced and the Caerphilly jams are to die for.
