not a extensive menu very expensive and they do not like it when you take a disabled person into the bar. Owner was quite rude.

It was our Mothers birthday last week & we were recommended to try the Red Lion for the first in many years, we were pleasantly surprised by the refurbishment of the venue and especially the reception we received from all the staff.
There was a great selection of dishes, freshly cooked to a high standard.
The service we received was...

After reading on of the recent reviews I feel I have to write myself!
Visiting the Red Lion after a long journey from Devon Myself and my family received one of the warmest welcomes from Beth and her team.

In total contrast to the last review, I visit regularly and I have never had cause to complain or felt anything less than satisfied by the extremely warm and friendly welcome we receive from what we know to be the manageress. Each visit has a lovely ambience, friendly staff with great polite service and delicious food! We are always remembered...

Drinks orders were...

A great upgrade to what was a terrible pub. I've seen this pub in various incarnations since the late 80's when I moved near here. It got progressively worse over the years until the current owners took over. Good food now, can be a little fussy. Great beers. Still hasn't quite got that classic local feel, but it's getting there.
Booked for a table for 4 for Sunday lunch 6th April 2013. Arrived to a rather pleasant interior and nicely presented pub. Sat for lunch and asked for water and ice which was forgotten immediately and we had to request it again. Menu had a great choice which I thought was very good. The starter took a long time to...
