I decided to treat myself to a day in Cardiff including a trip to theatre. I found it very mediocre and had expected better. I queued for a filled roll then I had to queue again for chips, then a person who went straight to this station asked for rolls instead of queuing correctly and the staff went and got... More

Had lunch here on Nov 29. Had to queue which was promising and dining area was spacious, clean and comfortable. The place was well organised and tables were cleared as soon as people left which is also a good sign. Hate to eat surrounded by uncleared tables. We had a Roast Turkey dinner and the Fish, Chips and Peas. This... More

After shopping till I droppe the cafe was a welcome sight. I had a coffe and scone. The scone was served with clotted cream and jam. It was lovely with a great view of the Hayes. Bit pricey but good well presented and it tasted nice.

Went there on a Saturday night (for a table for 2), waited in the queue to be seated. Hostess saw that we were waiting but she was approached by a couple who came in after us (seemingly regulars) and she saw to them first, even though they had no reservation. When the hostess spoke to us, we pointed out that... More

The choice if food is good and the actually food and seating area is lovely and spacious, however the food is disappointing. My turkey roast with all the trimmings was cold and swimming in gravy which had been put on for me,would have been better served in a small gravy boat so I could put whatever amount I wanted. The gravy... More

Lovely soups and good selection of hot food and drinks. Buffet service and tables well laid out. Ideal for lunch while out shopping.

Conveniently situated in John Lewis for shoppers, great for a coffee break or even lunch. Canteen style service where you pick your tray up and choose from of cakes and sandwiches on display or on the board for something hot. Also sells wine.....

Food was reasonable but not necessarily good value for money. We ate at the restaurant mainly because it was convenient.

We've visited many times since opening and there's nothing in particular I can say you must try. We go back if we're too tired to walk anywhere else. Everything is average. I think John Lewis generally has list its edge with food.

Have visited the restaurant and coffee shop many times its always going to be the last but after the visit on 04/07/2014 it really is the last time . The food was tasteless , the variety of food wasnt good and the pastry counter looked as if it had seen better days and not good when you see customers clearing... More
