Booked online weeks ago for a pre-planned special evening out. Got to Cardiff Bay to find it closed down. Further investigation found that it had been closed for months but their website is still up and running with absolutely no indication that it has closed down. Disappointing.

The curried goat was the worst I have ever tasted, rice was very dry. Jerk chicken was over cooked really won't be going again

I really enjoyed the homemade tastes. The wings as an appetiser and the soup. The ackee & saltfish was spot on, festival dumplings were sweet & made to order & there was a generous portion of rice. My partner was smitten with the curried goat and the snapper escovietch went down swell with our pals. This place is a hidden little... More

Lovely, Lovely food that felt like great home cooking. Had the king prawns to start and stole a rib off a friends plate- all lovely- softest meat ever!! so so tender- could have eaten a tray full. Followed with one of my favorites- Goat curry- that was beautifully cooked and so morish!!- a very healthy portion with rice and peas... More

We came here for dinner before going to the theatre so were quite early (about 6ish). The place was empty which I think led to the poor atmosphere although it also seemed quite cold. The server was very abrupt and made it seem like she was doing us a favor by serving us and would rather we weren't there. Several... More

The other half and I often eat home cooked African/Caribbean food - so at least we had something to compare this to when invited by the mother in law. She had a groupon voucher that entitled us to a main, starter and glass of wine each. As soon as we entered we noticed a strong smell of sewerage masked with... More

Maria was super helpful and accommodating. Food was good. It's a nice alternative to the standard choices offered elsewhere in the bay, and also not a chain. Could do with more staff instead of piling the pressure on Maria! Booking the table was quite difficult as no one replied to my email, voicemail or Facebook message. To anyone thinking of... More

As a veggie, Its hard to find something a bit different, we were invited to Mr G's as a birthday party in work, we had pre-ordered - even so the food did not arrive for 30 minutes after we arrived, my meal was served 20 minutes after the first person on our table had their food and so my meal... Not impressed , visited here with my family. Booked it in advance for a Sunday evening. Only us there. On entering the restaurant I was overpowered by an unpleasant smell. It wiped out any taste and made me feel sick. We ordered our food which came cold- spare ribs. No red wine available. My goat curry had more bones than... More

Im very sorry to hear of the problem on your visit to Mr Gs Soul Kitchen. In your review you mention that there was an over powering smell on entering the restaurant... the only thing i can think that this may have been is the outside drains on the street as this has been a problem for the majority of...
