Hadn't been here before Saturday, friends recommend it so a group of us tried it out. Very friendly staff all smiling and helpful. Menu was very good. Crispy rabbit with pickled veg was excellent, pork with apple in pastry really went well ( was something different) we all enjoyed and cannot wait to go back.

We recently relocated from Surrey to Cardiff and are lucky enough to be within walking distance of this wonderful little restaurant. We have now visited three times since April, usually just myself and my husband but also with another couple. Every time we have been greeted with a smile and highly efficient service. The menu is varied and of excellent... More

Hadn't been here for ages..... under new Management since February of this year. Couldn't believe they could offer such good food at such reasonable prices, sat with baited breath! Wahay, what a surprise! Ample portion of poached pear, Perl las and rocket /endive salad. (Would have liked to taste more endive). However the fish and chips were to die for,... More

Under new management, this is a pleasant pub offering a good range of foods. Portions are generous and food served nicely. Manager and staff are welcoming. Relaxed atmosphere in the pub area although you can have the same menu in the restaurant which is more formal. Good for a Friday night break and will try the Sunday lunch soon.

Had a really pleasant surprise here last night. Not the usual run of the mill pub food here. really good, lovely starter and really nice creamy sea food risotto for main, partner had Crispy chicken on Fricassee which was quite nice. Good selection of ales too though on this occasion I was the nominated driver! Will definitely be back.

Had a lovely meal here this evening. Menu was more imaginative that usual 'pub grub'. Well cooked and the fish I had fresh and delicious. Service was efficient and friendly. All in all a very pleasant evening. Thank you.

We're trying to support this local pub and restaurant as it has new owners and it would be great to see it establish itself in the village. They have made many improvements to the interior and beer garden and it seemed to be quite busy for an early Friday night. They have another new chef. Our meals were okay, but... More

Restaurant type menu in a traditional pub at fair prices. Starters c£6. Mains c£12. Steaks were properly cooked c£17. Menu was varied and had some really interesting choices - breakfast (!) comprising pancetta, beans and a crispy egg which was lovely. The other starters were also lovely mackerel enjoyed by one and pig and black pudding for the other 2.... More

Called in as heard it had changed hands. A new chef owner, one in a line of good cooks who have tried to make a go of the Kings. This time I feel Andy Will succeed where the others have failed. Good food at a good price. Too many pubs serve average food at restaurant prices. Not here! The food... More
