'Nice place. Good food. Well worth a visit'

We went here for two course lunch and wine with a voucher (can't remember how much for now but was very probably good value) Place : A nice Olde Worlde pub in Pentyrch, a smallish village north of Cardiff with wooden tables and mismatched chairs in the dining room. Went here today on a living social deal with our 2 children aged 11 & 13. The food was excellent. The children had the welsh black beef burgers with proper home made chips, which they devoured. I had the rump of lamb which was delicious and cooked perfectly while my husband had the cod which was also cooked to perfection.... More

Just popped in on spec, and secured the last table! A good job - excellent food from a very competitively priced Market menu and outstanding service. Nice atmosphere too. Will definitely be booking next time!

Visited using a Living Social deal. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. The food was outstanding quality. I had the Duck has to start, followed by Fish & Chips, both dishes were faultless! My husband had the bruschetta followed by Rump Steak and said his was excellent! Lovely old pub and the cool stone walls were a welcome respite on... More

A wonderful day out with my grandparents and the food was superb!! Not a crumb left on any of our plates and the portions were just right! The young woman Kate, who served us, was such a welcoming, efficient, friendly and genuine person! For people who don't get out much and like a good chat, she bubbled with the granparents... More

My first meal at The Kings will not be the last, excellent food, friendly staff and lovely atmosphere in this characterful pub. My Duck hash with perfect poached egg was excellent. Apparently they have a food award already and you can see why.

My first meal at the Kings though I have popped in before. It's always got a friendly atmosphere and its a beautiful place. We were well looked after and allowed time to discuss business in a quote area whilst being offered refreshments before lunch. Lunch was fantastic. The lamb Wellington was melt in the mouth. Service was great, we were... More

Went here for Monday lunch and although it was busy and the staff were rushed, they still engaged us and made us feel welcome. The menu is something a bit different and there's a lot to choose from (we're going back to try other meal option - the pan fried chicken and the burger are amazing). The pub is set... More

Have been a frequent visitor here for a number of years and current owners have image some subtle but effective refinements. Had a great evening here celebrating a family birthday. Fish and chips were supurb and apple crumble a delight. Establishment also serves some fine local and guest ales Will continue to return

Went to the Kings this evening, we tried the market menu. The food was very good value for money (3 course menu for £12.50). Both the service and the quality of the food was excellent, the steak was extremely tender and the slow cooked lamb was mouth watering. The only draw back was that some of the clientele were boardering... More
