Set in a classic Victorian Town House, within a well hit 'six' of the county cricket ground, The Cricketers offers a great range of quality Welsh real ales from our sister company, Evan Evans Brewery. Chilled continental lagers, a great wine selection & a large soft drink range. We also offer free Wi-Fi. Our beer garden is the best in Cardiff, with plenty of seating and a real sun trap!

Almost a 5 but....

Had a really nice meal here, very good quality, but the thing that let them down was that despite the staff being very pleasant the barman didn't know what pernod or white zinfandel was!

Seems a popular choice being on the way into the city centre and close to the river. Nice comfy chairs in a beautiful old house done in such a nice way even the huge tv screen seemed to fit. We had whitebait which I felt were greasy and horrid but my husband liked them. Lots of people eating in so... More

Best pub we tried over the weekend; felt like a 'proper' pub with good selection of ales, comfortable surroundings and a friendly, wlecoming atmosphere. Pity we had already arranged an evening meal as would have quite happily stayed all evening.

After a long day visiting Brecon Beacons it was fantastic to open the doors to The Cricketers and being welcome by the warmth of the lit fire! The pub is very nice with lots of light coming in from both sides of the house and the ceiling. The waitress were nice, we got our food rather quickly and it tasted... More

My first experience at the pub and not one I intend to repeat! Awful from start to finish. I was served by a waitress I believe was called Ceri - her attitude was appaling she was totally disinterested. The food was only luke warm and undercooked, not recommended!

Dear Joshdurbins Sorry to read your review of our business. If you would be so kind as to email me directly on manager@cricketerscardiff.co.uk and say exactly what Kerry did to make your experience so poor. I find your review very shocking to say the least, as will all of our regular customers who know her as a very polite and... More

The Cricketers is situated in the leafy somewhat posh suburb of Pontcanna and is actually a converted townhouse. There is plenty of space inside and they have a good selection of Evans Evans beers on tap in which I went for a pint of Warriors Ale. As I went there very early in the day it was extremely quiet but... More

This is a converted residence on the, very elegant, Catherdral Road. It has excellent style, and decor, and is a very nice place for dinner. It can be a bit difficult to get a table, so best to book ahead. The beer range is very good, and kept in good condition. The food is a bit pricey, by the lamb... More

My boyfriend and and I were looking for a nice place for a Sunday lunch and The Cricketers was highly rated online. When we arrived we were told we could have a table in 15 minutes, and to wait at the bar and have a drink. After 30 minutes we asked about the table - we could see a few... More

Dear Monty222014 Thank-you for visiting us the other weekend based on our previous excellent reviews on TA for our food and great Sunday roasts. I am very disappointed to read your review and apologise that we did not live up to your expectation on the day. We have taken your comments on board and all staff have been briefed about... More

Popular with the Pontcanna glitterati and rightly so, this pub is spacious, clean & great for large groups & those with children. Dogs are also allowed here, so good for visiting after a walk around Bute Park or Llandaff fields. Food was good quality, but not terribly generous portions - could easily polish off 3 courses here. Nice wine list... More

Good atmosphere, nice local food, busy, but not overwhelming, friendly helpful staff. A mistake was made with the bill, but was dealt with very well when it was pointed out.
