Modern Italian restraint in the hart of the city centre. If you want to get away from the run of the mill Italian food and fancy something more contemporary then this is the place for you.

We had a table booked for last night as my mother in law had heard good things. Unfortunately my wife is diabetic and took ill and at 2 pm we rang them to move it to tonight. No one answered despite repeated attempts so I left a message asking them to move the booking tonight. Cue this morning when I... More

We called in on the hop and were found a table for six with a two hour slot which exactly what we wanted. Very efficient, very friendly and intimate serving great food and wine. Will definitely be going back for more of the same. Would have been five stars but Antonio's mother and I need to sit down and talk... More

One of the best restaurant meals I have had for a long time. Lovely welcoming atmosphere. We were lucky to get a table as we had not booked. My lamb dish was superb and my daughter enjoyed her exquisite pork meal. Lovely touch to welcome us with a small complimentary glass of crisp Prosecco. We would both like to highly... More

We visited this city centre restaurant when it first opened but then lost sight of it until a friend commented positively on Facebook so we jumped at the chance of returning when in Cardiff for a weekend. Having been to the matinee of Cats and had a very disappointing lunch (see review of Ffresh) we were looking forward to a... More

We have been visiting Casanova for quite a few years now and have always enjoyed fantastic food here. The service is extremely friendly and knowledgable (including great advice on wine). They source high quality ingredients which really makes the difference so a seemingly simple Italian dish tastes delicious. For the quality of the food the prices are very reasonable. Don't... More

I ate here midweek whilst on a business trip and the meal was brilliant with excellent service. Very authentic italian food at a reasonable price for the quality. I will be returning soon! Thanks again Casanova.

A beautiful food experience with service to match! All home made, all locally sourced, all cooked to order. Wine sourced from small Italian cooperatives. Water, oil, balsamic, bread, salted almonds on the table as complimentary before you order. Small quality menu with maître d attentive to every detail. A really delightful experience which is worth finding whenever you visit Cardiff!

Superb Cuttle fish with peas and onions, pasta with broccoli spears, goat stew and rabbit with chorizo. Fantastic and at such a reasonable price of £22 for two courses.
