The menu is pretty small but every dish is freshly prepared.Don't go if you want a pizza or a steak. But if you want authentic italian food it is great.

A schoolfriend and I were meeting - for the first time in 36 years. There was no hesitation in choosing the place - I've loved this little restaurant for the 10yrs it's been open; my friend had visited only once, but had great memories of that meal! Still astonishing value, still the warmest welcome in the city, and still superbly... More

Went for a birthday celebration with friends. Food was tasty, hot, perfect portions and the service was swift - maybe a bit too swift but a great place to eat.

Easy to find. Cosy welcoming atmosphere. Good nibbles and the chef came to the table to explain the specials. Excellent choice and seemed to be cooked there and then. Excellent servuce, puddings and coffee, would try it again

I called in for lunch on my own today and was made to feel very welcome. I had the pasta with butternut squash and crispy bacon, delicious. Thank you so much, I will call again.

No nonsense typical Italian food with a good value set lunch menu. Loved my meal. Goats cheese, beetroot salad, a delicious pasta ragu with chunks of slow cooked meats (they must somehow weigh the meat down whilst long cooking to achieve this) followed by a perfect panacotta. Convenient, albeit expensive, parking in a multi storey car park immediately opposite.great!

My friend and I received a very warm welcome even though it was our first visit to Casanova. The food was amazing and the service first class. We will definitely return when we next visit the city.

I have visited Casanova a couple of times. It is ideally located in central Cardiff, around 200 yards from the Millenium stadium main entrance, next door to the City Arms. Our most recent visit was as a group of six prior to the Wales v South Africa international. I was reluctant toner a meal before the game but my wife... More

Even though my party of 5 hadn't booked, the staff somehow managed to squeeze us in on a very busy and crowded evening before the Wales v Fiji rugby international. The service was quick and friendly and the food was absolutely delicious. I had a beef risotto that must rank among the very best I have eaten. The rest of... More

...said my partner as she tucked into her starter, but more on that in a minute, Without question, this is one of the best meals we've ever had in a restaurant - actually, this is one of the best overall dining experiences we have ever had full stop! The food was second to none, putting to shame some Michelin Star... More
